  1. hi mate i think we all would prefare daytime but times change and were pushed into things we would rather not do but thats life take care mark I'm not saying I wouldn't take a lamped hare, just prefer them daytime. The hares where I encounter them must be good'uns, 'cause no collie would take them !LOL !! And if you are out after a bag of rabbits, all a hare does is tire your dog out and lessen you chance of a good bag of rabbits ! There are times when me and LDR go out for specific quarry, but that doesn't prevent the odd "accident" !! LOL !! Cheers.
  2. I was talking to a guy just last week who was part of a keepers shoot at six mile bottom that shot over 900 hares in two days !! So I can't see the problem in lamping a few with the dogs. In answer to the origional question, I've had two in a night, but that was by accident, when lamping rabbits; I personaly prefer daytime for hares, pre ban, of course ! Cheers.
  3. My bitch, Delta won the rough lurcher bitch class; and she had just got back from a full weeks work down the country, she is also in the lamping competition that is organised on this site, so you should realy get your facts right before going on about "non-workers " !! Cheers.
  4. This one was a fair size; didn't wheigh it, but it felt over the 20 lbs ! Good old days, pre ban, of course ! Cheers.
  5. Where have I said that ????????? I have mentioned a mixi rabbit that me and LDR had that ran just as well as an able bodied one !!!!!!!!!!!! Cheers.
  6. At the end of the day, it's slip for slip, so any anomalaties should even themselves out. Cheers.
  7. Remember that mixi one Delta had that night on Gins land ??? The bugger ran as well as any able bodied rabbit !! They should count; all rabbits slipped on and caught should count. Cheers.
  8. Cancelled, as far as I know, for their refusal to accomodate docked terrier pups !! Cheers.
  9. Well I've heard that "The Bruce" has a bad shoulder;..... anyone going to give me 20-1 against him making the final ???????? Cheers.
  10. No worry's !, he's probably another teenager with his first dog !! Hope he learns !! Cheers.
  11. Well, it doesn't make sense to me !! I would far rather, for simplicities sake, just go straight down the card, then everyone knows where they are !! I, of course, will still back this competition, whatever you decide ! Cheers, your cantankerous old mate !!
  12. and you saying you have had dogs through the years are going to say that you still wouldnt hunt a fox? not trying to be a dick or nothing i was simply making a suggestion and it wasnt until use started that i said i wouldnt waste my time with rabbits. I said my dogs have taken "EVERTHING", before the ban, of course, that includes fox !!! This is a RABBIT lamping competition, for good prize money and trophies, if the humble rabbit is below you and your dog, why comment ????? Cheers.
  13. Edited Because this competition is advertised in front of TENS OF THOUSANDS of people, and is perfectly LEGAL; unlike what you are suggesting.... you dipshit !! How old are you... TWELVE !!! Get a life !!!
  14. Sean, I take it you mean me, when you say "the boy above you" !! Firstly, I'm not a boy, I'm 56; secondly, I don't know anything about you or your dogs, so couldn't comment on your dogs. You post on a thread you know nothing about, and suggest that rabbits are not the quarry of a lurcher, well my lurchers over the years have taken EVERYTHING, what is it that YOUR dogs take ?? Do enlighten us !! Cheers.
  15. No, it only seperates the people who are willing to put their dogs up, from the ones who denigrate it !! Cheers.
  16. So chartpolski if you are victorious and rew is to you dont mind traveling down notts for your 2nd round heat ? I'm travelling down to Newark on sunday evening, after the St. Johns Chapell Show, for an evenings rabbit shooting, a nights lamping with a lurcher and a whippet, and a morning goose shooting !! So, yes, as I have just told LDR, I'd be prepared to travel down to Cornwall, never mind Notts, for a 2nd round encounter, if I was lucky enough to win my 1st round !!! Cheers.
  17. Hold on mate, thats not what I understood !! You cannot wait until the 1st round is run, then decide who runs who in the 2nd round !! That will only lead to suspicion and make a mockery of the competition !! I understood, from talking to you, that if I was lucky enough to win my 1st round, I would be up against you or Rew in the 2nd round !! Which is exactly as it should be !! They don't re-draw the F.A. Cup or Wimbledon after the 1st round !! There will only be eight dogs in the 2nd round, some one will have to travel !! Cheers.
  18. iam on to it now tomo lol thanks Just an observation mate, but you haven't got them in the correct running order, and that will cause confusion as to who runs who in the 2nd round ! Cheers. Wouldnt it be in the hat for the second round ? obviously keeping people as close in their area as possible but if their is say 4 from the northeast in the 2nd round its only fair they are out of a hat with say ian b drawing them as we can all trust him im sure of that. people cant be seen to be handpicking their opponents. Lets not start changing the rules now !!! This is the way LDR s
  19. Well; if we are allowed to have "reserves", heres mine, in case Delta gets injured !!! LOL !!! Tango; Cheers.
  20. what is it im sure its that in the thread also i better chnge the order too if thats how they work lol Yep; the winner of me v Luke Bull x, has the winner of Rew and Longdogrunner in the 2nd round, etc., down the card. Cheers.
  21. And if you want absolutly correct breeding, Delta is Beddy/Grey X Deer/Grey-Whippet/Grey; pedantic, yes, but I'm sure you want accuracy !! LOL !! Cheers.
  22. iam on to it now tomo lol thanks Just an observation mate, but you haven't got them in the correct running order, and that will cause confusion as to who runs who in the 2nd round ! Cheers.
  23. The big shield will go to the winner for one year, the plates are for winner and runner up. Cheers.
  24. "Uplands Lurcher Club"; still going, as far as I know. Cheers.
  25. I think you have to much time on your hands !!! Get back to feeding and changing wor Lori !!! Cheers !!
