    Did a farmer REALY assult your son and take his gun from him, when your son wasn't on his land ? Did you report it ? The farmer will be looking at losing his freedom, (assult/GBH/ABH, etc.), theft. The police and the prosocution will have a great time, IF your story is true !! I find it difficult to bellieve a farmer would be so stupid ! Cheers.

    Dogs first and foremost; BUT, I enjoy shooting, hunting, fishing, in fact ANY type of fieldsport, and wouldn't object to anyone following their chosen type of fieldsport !! Cheers.

    Is it a Saluki Type, mate ? They seem succeptable to this, something to do with the bones and tendons growing at different rates. Sometimes it can be cured with vetinary help and correct diet. Best of luck with it Cheers.

    I was threatened by three idiots shooting pigeons in the field behind my house; shoot my dogs, give me a hiding, all sorts of threats. I calmly told them they had five minutes to pack up and clear off before I called the police and the helicopter would take only minutes to get here ! The uttered a few more threats and started packing up. Of course, I had NO intention of calling the law, but they must have went moaning to the farmer, who must have recognised me by their description of me and my dogs, as he 'phoned me the next day, full of apologies and said he had banned them from ALL the land

    oh thats right lets just let everyone think this game is completly without any incidents that go against our beliefs,jesus accidents happen,il even say its my fault entirely some you lads that go through life and owning dogs really are a credit and in my eyes definately looked up to Yes, of course accidents happen.... but why post on here, laughing about it ? and when you don't get the replies you wanted, edit all your posts then get sarcastic about it ?     My daughter bought me an E-reader for Xmas. Now, I'm an old tradistionalist, but this thing is great !!! First book I read on it was Jack Londons "Call of the wild", perhaps the best dog book ever ! Theres pleanty more books built into it, but I will figure out how to download from the pc ! Cheers.

    It's still a puppy ! Been started to soon by the sounds of it. Probably frustrated chasing rabbits it can't catch, so it's opening up! Give the dog a chance; back to basics and try her again in September. Cheers.

    Bit of a strange thread, but.....I've got a Beddy/Grey x Deer/Grey-Whippet/Grey, but I don't call her a Beddy, (or any other) X, just a Lurcher. I also have a first X Deer/Grey, and I call her a Deer X ! I suppose I would call a dog a Bull X, if it only had Bull and Grey in it; any more breeds in the cross then it's a Lurcher ! Cheers.

    There are dogs owned by lads, (and lasses) all over the UK and Ireland, lads who wouldn't know how to turn a computer on, let alone come on here bigging their dogs up !! These dogs may not get matched or enter competitions or get their pics put up on hunting sites; but boy, can some of them do the job !! So the question seems a bit irrevalant ! Who knows where the best dogs are from....as some of the best dogs are seen by very few people, and talked about by even fewer !! Cheers.

    Ok, maybe this should be in the "Hunting" section, but the Lurchers WERE there ! LOL ! We had a run over to Otterburn fot the Borders Boxing Day Meet; Master with Hounds; Hot toddys all round !!; Santa arriving; Handing presents out to all the local kids; Lurchers meeting the Hounds; Terrier men awaiting the off; A cold, dry morning with a good turnout ! Cheers.

    I can't understand why the government doesn't allow us to have whatever plate we want, within reason. It could be a great money spinner for them; just imagine if they let you make up your own plate for, say, £500; loads would do it ! My pal in the 'states has "crazyhorse" as his plate, it's registered to his car, just the same as abc123 would be here !! I'm not sure if they would allow "OWLDFART" as a plate for me, though !! LOL !! Cheers.

    My mate Kevin, from Benton , went out with Ron for a run and had his dog "Brin" with hin. Brin was one of the best dogs I've seen, did the "four tricks" and was mustard on daytime hares, but he came back full of praise for the "Assasin ", so he must have been some dog !! Cheers.

    Bill, I did think the Saluki was a bit straight in the rear leg, but he was a typical example of the Beduin Salukis that he was running with back then He had endless stamina, but was the most "untractable" dog I have ever owned ! LOL ! Cheers.
