    I’m sorry if some of the posts , ( some of which are undoubtedly mine) , have upset you; but moaning about posts being hijacked or going off topic is guaranteed to do one thing; make them meander even more ! Its not meant to upset anyone, if we didn’t inject a bit of humour, sarcasm , whatever, then the site would truly die. I try to post as much about dogs as I post in the general section, but you can only talk so much about rabbits and rats , and not other quarry, without attracting the ire of the moderators. Im sorry if you feel your thread has been ruined. Cheers.

    Been for my hearing test, very good for a man of my age, they said. Eye test on Sunday, last week had my yearly meeting with my doctor, all fine and been to the dentist to sort out a chipped tooth. Like a vintage car, us old ‘uns , need regular maintenance ! Lashing down here aswell, just having lunch then on with the Barbour and waterproofs and out with the dog to the allotments to see to the poultry. My missus is down your way for a while, she won’t be happy if it’s pissing down ! Cheers.

    Not sure if this is relevant for the thread, but the non-ped whippets often threw a “bully” type in a litter, possibly a throwback to when terrier was added to whippets to give them a bit more “fire”. I had two, one looked exactly like you’d imagine a bull/whippet to look like. It was well bred, 3/4 whippet 1/4 greyhound. It was too slow for racing so I give it to a lad and it had a good career at ferreting. The rest of the litter made the grade and looked like whippets, The other one I had was bred from the very best scratch dogs and won scratch races but looked like a bull/greyhound.

    BRICS is just a trade agreement, much like The EU, NAFTA, AUKUS, CPTPP. If they want to have the Chinese Yuan as their currency, so what ? The EU is one of the biggest trading blocks in the world and has its own currency, the Euro. What would happen if the BRICS countries demanded to be paid for their goods in Yuan and America, the EU, the Uk, and all the other nonBRICS countries refused and said they would only pay in their own currencies ?     Talking of Rolex’s, years ago I knew a bloke in the Middle East , his nick name “Dodgy Dave” should give an insight into him. Anyway, his missus wanted a Rolex for Xmas, so he bought a snide one in Thailand, then went to the Rolex dealers in Saudi, where he had bought his own genuine watch, and put on a sob story about the box getting damaged and could they give him a replacement box, which they did. He put the snide watch in the genuine box and gave it to his missus, who was over the moon! Of course the obvious happened and after a short while the snide Rolex packed in. She too
