  1. I said to my wife the country is a tinderbox waiting for a spark. Sadly , the murder of those poor children has provided that spark. I fear the genie is out of the lamp, the Kraken has been released, peoples pent up frustrations have exploded and the completely out of their depth politician’s are so out of touch with reality that I fear for my country……stay safe mate. Cheers.
  2. I despise all the “legacy “ parties, mate. Please don’t start with the “whataboutery “ you have previously decried ! LOL ! Cheers.
  3. She said something like “ Starmer has to come out and say what Labour is going to do about uncontrolled immigration “. The sad thing is they won’t only do nothing about it…they will encourage more. Cheers.
  4. Now I’ve told you before; take a deep breath before posting, go over it in your mind, think about punctuation, spelling, syntax, grammar, if you get stuck or are in doubt , PM me, that’s what I’m here for young’un ! Cheers.
  5. But she wasn’t just made a Dame, the equivalent to a Sir, she was made a Baroness, the equivalent to a Lord, she can sit in the House of Lords and scrutinise legislation and amend or change it, she can also claim the £350 a day attendance allowance. I have never understood why she was awarded this privilege, many people have lost children to violence but haven’t been rewarded in this way by the Government. Cheers.
  6. I’ve imported two dogs from Australia and one from Saudi, but sadly none were running/working dogs. Too late in my life to do it again but looking back I would have imported running dogs from Australia, America and the Middle East, I’ve had the opportunity but never took it. Cheets.
  7. I’m enjoying the banter. Just don’t over step it and invite the irrational ire of the mods again ! Cheers.
  8. f**k me, this is better than the tennis; serve, return, volley ! LOL ! Cheers.
  9. Are these the best crisps ever ? Cheers.
  10. What makes us British ? Well, going by the replies and comments on this thread and others, eccentricity has to be high up on the list ! Cheers.
  11. To be fair, I’ve engaged in verbal sword play with Wilf many times and it’s always entertaining and polite, so maybe I spotted what he was doing and you didn’t ! LOL ! Cheers.
  12. Wilfy, you crack me up ! You’ve reduced argumentative debate to a single word, and won ! Kudos, mate, Kudos ! LOL ! Cheers.
  13. I’d say very much like our deer/greys but from lines that go way back, there’s probably the odd other type in them but they do seem to breed true to type, although you can get rough and smooth in the same litter and the smooth ones are called ‘roo hounds. Im sure our Aussie members will have seen far more and know far more about them than I do. Cheers.
  14. Distance is no object if it’s what you really want, but to be honest, importing one of those would just be a vanity project for me. There are plenty of types here that will do the job I need a dog for. Cheers.
  15. A couple of staghounds advertised in Australia; Very decent prices. I might have been interested at one time, but now the head rules the heart, not the other way round ! LOL ! Cheers.
  16. Chernobyl, mate , Chernobyl. Maybe an improvement, that’s not for me to say. Cheets.
  17. That’s the one mate ! It could have been 40 years ago, not sure One of my best mates even today is Ponty Phil, he was on the committee of Ponty rugby club at one time and I was there when they won the SWALEC cup and I still have the tie ! I was also there when my Welsh pals got me a ticket for the Arms Park when Wales beat the recently reunified Germany 1-0 and Rush scored ! We ended up in the Customs House on the docks……, but I won’t go into that ! LOL ! Cheets.
  18. The local donkey jacket shop has been looted evidently…… Cheers.
  19. Another tale from the Chartpolski book of reminiscing ! I’ve spent some great times and have some great friends in South Wales, and maybe 30 or more years ago I was staying with a Yemeni/Welsh pal in Cardiff and he took me to a club , I think it was called tha CAIACS club, it was an all black rugby club, my wife and I were the only white people in there, and an old bloke called Sammy, who had evidently been a commonwealth welterweight boxing champion came over with a tray of Newcastle Brown Ale and said “welcome to the club, Geordie” ! We had a fantastic night ! Cheers.
  20. Kicking off big time in Sunderland; police station burnt out. Cheers.
  21. I’ve told this tale before. I was great friends with the double Olympic gold medal champion, record holder and American civil rights man Lee Evans. We became pals when he was managing the Saudi Arabian Olympic team. What we had in common was Range Rovers and Land Rovers. Anyhow, I had his 50th birthday party at my house and we were at one time at another party and a friend of his, an ex American football player who went by the nickname “The Refigerator” was also there, and I overheard him say to Lee; “ has your new white pal used the ‘N’ word yet ? “ Well, I was incense
  22. I see prime numbers as blue, Fibonacci numbers as red, and numbers that are both prime and Fibonacci as purple, but I have to admit, you’ve got me beat with that post ! LOL ! Cheers.
  23. Canadians, Ozzies and Kiwis are just our colonial cousins , not those bloody Inuits, Abo’s and Māoris, of course ! ( Just tongue in cheek lads ! ). Cheers.
  24. Coe, Ovett, Cram, to name only three; three of the best middle distance runners in the world ! Cheers.
  25. I was once on a flight and the passengers included Daley Thompson, Malcolm Macdonald, Brendan Foster and other athletes, they had been playing a charity football game at Gateshead Stadium, they were part of an England team. It was only a short flight, Newcastle - London, but I had a chat with them and Daley came across as a very nice, down to Earth bloke. Cheers.
