  1. i would like to see that Going back to 87-88-1989 my cousin had a little black powerhouse of a dog called Sam, a genuine Whippetx Greyhound 1st cross around the 50-55 lb max mark. This dog was mustard a taking Roe day or night. Thats the type of dog that I would use if I were running a deer like the roe deer yall have. Our deer are different though so you need a little bit more ass behind it.
  2. Ya, Elk would probably take at least a 22 inch dog. LOL!
  3. Our deer are probably the size of them fallow types I'd say. Every ones different though and most do not "pull" too damn easy.
  4. Pretty good descripton bird. I would bump the dogs up to the 27 to 29 inche zone and make them 75 to 90 pounds. Extreme amounts of sitehound in them and absolute power, determination, and courage.
  5. I want to add one more thing. Young dogs "WILL" lose their nerve if you play the game hard. I dont care what cross they are, they will get set back but the good ones will come out of it. There most likely is a cross out there that can take the poundin but that dog couldnt catch one in a million years so what does it matter.
  6. In my neck of the woods, they better be big and powerful and be so fast that they are bordering on gettin wrecked every time they take off. Another very important factor they must have is loads of determination and courage to spare. People who have not done it and only drempt about have no clue the beatin a dog can take playin that game. It gets right donw brutal at times.
  7. Them are some big powerful well built dogs. Thanks for puttin the pics up.
  8. Just speed up and they wont jump. They learn man.
  9. I would not get one if I were you. It is not necessary and I think that if you train your dogs from the start to go this way, they will do it their whole life without a problem. I think it makes a better all around dog also cause I can go into the tavern and eat and what not and they will still be in the truck when I get back cause they know I'll stomp a mudhole in their ass.
  10. They just ride in the back of my truck. They learn early on with me that you best not jump until the vehicle is slowed way down cause that shit hurts. That blue bitch cant hold herself though. She will sail out over the top of the roof and off the windshield while were still at about 30 mph. HAHA! She is a crazy c**t for sure.
  11. Sorry for the bad picture. It was taken with the ole lady's camera phone deal. I lost the camera for the third time and she still aint convinced enough to let me have another one just yet. Little does she know that when these crops come out all the way, I will have another camera and a good one at that. Anyhow, I woke up this morning about 0330 and was sittin around watchin some bullshit huntin DVDs. Something called Fur and Fangs or whatever. HAHA! Anyhow, about 0530 I seen a light come on upstairs so I hollered up there and said, "what ya doin girl." My oldest daughter said, "I'm gettin
  12. Outstanding video! Please make more, as many as you can. HAHA! Well done winger, cant wait to see the next one.
  13. Thanks for the link there. Some more great pics of some good lookin dogs.
  14. Some great lookin dogs on here. Lets see some more. The wheaten/greyhoundxdeerhound/greyhound sounds a very interesting mix to me.
  15. Just want to say that these wheaten crosses are some of the best lookin dogs I have seen on here. I bet they can do their job.
  16. Here are a couple pics for yall. I have a littermate to the Hoss dog and T gyp at my place now. She is doin real well. She is pretty sore right now and I'm lettin her have a few days off to regroup but she will be back at either Saturday or Sunday. Crops are still in here but we are managing to get some form of "action" every now and then. It aint pretty but we gotta do something.
  17. Send me the pics Doc and I'll get some up of the hunt.
  18. stabba, if i'd have known that, I would not have even asked.
  19. MattyG, your dog looks superb partner. I'd say he is a world beater for sure.
  20. I dont believe he will ever be at his best ever again but I have no doubt that he will be takin coyotes this late winter for me. He is a strong dog even injured. I'm hopin for the best. Thanks for your concern.
  21. I'd like to see as many wheaten crosses as yall have and tell what percentage they all are. Just the wheaten greyhounds though if ya dont mind.
  22. so your dogs would be better than a husky foxhound collie suluki apbt x greyhound lol Never said that.
  23. I have hard that when they are crossed they can run. The sled dog boys hate that about crossing the grey with them at least for the first cross cause the dogs spend too much time lurchin forward and running and feckin everything up so I most definately believe you. I will go for endurance as far as recovery time type endurance. What I mean is run after run endurance is good to go but I cant stand when this gyp takes one of them big bunnies on a 3 mile hike.
