    My greyhounds dont ever have a collar on. No need for one in my opinion. My running hounds and coon hounds always had collars on though.

    Outstanding post! I agree, there isnt any need of even using the word entered when talkin bout dogs. Just let them grow up being a dog as much as you possibly can and they will start catchin and killin shit on their own. If they cant handle that, they werent worth owning in the first place.

    I meant not much road work when they are young. Its obvious that an older dog that gets very "lazy" and quiet is gonna need road work or some sorta forced exercise and lots of hunting.

    my back garden is a 20 acre grass field will that do? I'd say you dont need to do much "road work". Thats just about perfect.

    The more they can get out and run the better. If you have a place they can run loose their whole young lives its the best. If you cant do that then you need to simulate it. Take them somewhere safe for as many hours a day as you can and let them romp and stomp as much as they want. As they get up there in age, you can start pushin them a bit more and more. By 14 months old or there abouts a dog should be rockin and rollin.

    On this site, folk are more pre-ocupied about whats in a dog rather than how it performes! I like Bird so I aint talkin about him. He just happened to start the thread but..........trust me when I say this, "It aint just this site!". Some ole boy asks a question about and "odd" cross on any site and I give my opinion that its probably not a good idea cuz facts are that it just wont work and HOLY HELL, you'd have thunk I called somebody's momma a whore. For f**k sake, it probably would have been better if I had said that.
