  1. I think the saluki types will literaly hold these sprint type speeds, say 35 mph for two miles or better even which no hound will hold at their top speed.
  2. We are gettin all mixed up here. Let me try and re-state what I'm gettin at. The good hounds we have over here at least can sprint at about 28 mph or some even a bit faster like at about 30 mph. I have seen these dogs lay down and run their guts out when coming out of the timber and lookin up at a coyote. They will pound the ground but even though they are tryin hard I have yet to see a hound type that can hold that sprint speed for any distance that impressed me. Now at 20 mph they can go forever and ever it seems but they do not have good sprintin endurance in my opinion. I have seen m
  3. depends what type of cover and terrain there crossing dan ive not seen mine or others run top out for 5 hours as i often lose sight of them but ive seen them going flat out for 40 mins to an hour and it was for sure more than 5 or 8mph a foxhound or husky type would run a saluki into the ground for sure but the saluki makes for a better cross with a greyhound for what folks want i think regards hedz I agree but I'll bet you in that 40 minutes they still didnt average 15 mph. I ran in the most wide open terrain that you could possibly run in and I still have never seen a hound that co
  4. The deerhounds suck and the greyhounds suck so lets breed them together to try and get lucky. Breed a good huntin dog to a good huntin dog and you will be so far ahead. You dont need greyhound, collie, deerhound, saluki, wheaten, beddy or bulldog. Every time somebody makes a new first cross like these, they go in reverse. No amount of "hybrid vigour" can make up for the decades of breeding good dogs and culling out the shit. I see two huge problems with huntin dogs today and one is everybody keeps thinkin they can improve by making more first crosses and secondly nobody is culling the shi
  5. Foxhounds do not run all day long at speed. The garmin gps collars have shown that they are averaging between about 6 and 8 mph in a 5 hour hunt.
  6. I am anxiously awaiting.

  7. They might could daytime stevemac but never on the lamp. I'd have to see them consistently daytime though to be a believer.
  8. why ?????? have you seen any work ??? just asking why you give this oppinion I think they will be slow first of all. I think they will be lacking intensity second of all. I also think that over time they will break down and be crippled at an early age. I really dont think they will suit you but I dont know you.
  9. I wouldnt mess with a pure deerhound if I was you. I'd say they will be lackin what you need and they wont hold up.
  10. That's some funny shit partner. The better question would be what does a "imported in to the UK saluker add to a greyhound". Most likely nuttin today. Go over that seagull daughter thread or whatever the f**k it's called and check out some of them coursing dogs. If you are tryin to re-invent them dogs on there, then good f****n luck cuz you aint got enough years in your life fella. Them dogs on them clips are fast as f**k and run smart as they can and catch and kill hares like they are puppy fodder. I aint never seen nuttin better than them for "running ability".
  11. rabbit/hare dog bred to a fox/deer dog...............or a rabbit/fox dog bred to a hare/deer dog
  12. Amish bitches give good head.

  13. Great job, dorothy. You must be drinkin out the same fountain artic has been lately.
  14. No, I'd say they are about the same. Big KC type deerhounds that couldnt catch a cold with a coat that is too long and does nuttin but pick up burs. And.......greyhounds that are psychotic, thin skinned, way too friggin fast to be useful with shitty feet. Nope, I'd say a little water in between us dont make us an entirely different world.
  15. LOL! I've seen that somewhere before but without the "buggers". HAHA!
  16. There are loads of ole boys over here that run greyhounds on jack rabbits and coyotes. As far as deerhound adding "fire" to a greyhound..........BULLSHIT! Might slow them down, make them bigger, I guess add a "better coat" but they aint adding fire to a greyhound.
  17. The greyhound is the only sighthound that will run something they know they will never catch over and over again with insane desire. Their "drive" to chase has been bred in a way that makes them almost stupid. They know its a game and they know its fake but they cannot resist the temptation to run it like they mean it. No other breed will do this cuz if they would, we'd be bettin on them and not the greyhounds. Money talks and bullshit walks. Only when there is a defined finish line of some sort will you ever see the elite canine athletes with the most drive and desire. I aint just talkin
  18. I aint gonna take this shit no more. I'm sensitive ya know.

  19. Some folks would climb a tree to lie when they could stand flat footed on the ground and tell the truth.
