  1. who's on about bulldogs like u tit if u cant hold a sensible debate grow up n do 1 Sensible?
  2. This is all that happens to a single handed coyote dog so to say a fox is gonna hurt a dog is a joke in my mind. Its just not possible.
  3. I think you need to remember Dan, that here, our runs are not usually anything like yours, especially in this part of the world, where the fields are like postage stamps. I'd be very surprised if after most of the runs round here, a dog is out of breath when it catches. And in general we term a single handed dog, just one that can do it on it;s own, rather than a dog that would be regularly doing it as a job. The big difference is i guess, even a good whippet which COULD kill a fox, would probably tell you to f**k right off if you asked it to do a second the same day / night. A g
  4. on the bottom of the ocean Yes mate, all of these guys are lying. Did you just need to jump in to agree with Dan been there done that paid the vets bills, learnt my lesson and didnt do it again I was just winding you up mate, just made me laugh how you jumped in with the coment after Dan. I would never ever pick a whippet as a fox dog, and never ever use one purposefully with any regularity, but i guess i must have just got lucky. But come on, saying a fox will 'ruin' a whippet, f**k it up so bad etc etc. . . . . it's a bit of an over reaction. It's a fox, not a f
  5. Its the same thing as a single handed coyote dog. Sure they exist but finding one would be almost impossible. I aint sayin a dog may not kill a coyote by itself but there are coyotes and then there are COYOTES. A big big difference between the two of them. The run alone will usually put a dog at a disadvantage cuz if you cant breath, you cant fight. Like Vince Lombardi said, "Fatigue makes cowards of us all."
  6. Finding a single handed whippet would be like finding rockin horse shit.
  7. I was an accident the saluki got to the terrier bitch by accident .The saluki dog was in one of the pens and their was a terrier bitch in it she was about 16 inc tts She had border terrier jack russell and a few more crosses in her .He keep a dog pup red rough coated he grew to about 24tts a man up the road got the service of this dog for a pure whippet king ended up with about 3 or 4 of these one of theses was mother to his little bitch Had a litter of mongrels one time. Dam was a dark red terrier gyp and the sire was half walker coonhound and half mountain cur. Them four gyps in tha

  11. No the kinda dog for hares is called a coursing dog bred from dogs that have caught hares for the last umpteen years. Dont go backwards.
  12. Yep. Its plain and simple. Coursing crosses will throw lighter than greyhound crosses. Reason why its a damn shame when the boys were breeding the good half crosses back in the day they didnt use hare killers instead of track dogs. You may have lost some intensity but the running ability would have been so much better. The smart guys are now crossing the coursing stuff on the gen half crosses and producing the best I've seen over yalls way.
  13. Take this for what its worth but I seen some shepherd type crosses when I was a boy that were rough as f**k. I dont mean a lil rough either. I mean down right horridly rough. Sayin that though I seen some coonhound crosses just as rough. Stay x intensity will make some rough sumbitches if it hits right.
  14. All I'm trying to say as they are very heavily muscled dense powerful dogs and when they kick off its damn serious business. My good buddy who knows a fair share bout dogs kickin off one time told me that he'd 10x rather handle a bulldog than a greyhound in a bad situation. There's alot of truth in them words and he knows way the heck more than most bout all that stuff. And I still stand by what I said. No terrier is gonna put fire into greyhound blood. Make them stay longer yes but not wind them up anymore than they already are.
  15. I really do believe that you can condition a greyhound to make him slower, tougher and more long winded than they do on the track but the problem is you can only make him just a bit slower through alot of trotting type work and long long long very slow runs. I mean miles and miles. This will slow him down some and it will make him tougher but the sumbitches are still in most cases gonna be too damn fast to hold up. That kinda training will also take some of the intensity from him but not enough to save his life 99% of the time.
  16. I dont think greyhounds are game at all. I think they are intense and crazy and will go to the fight right now. How long they stay is another matter but if they are winning they are gonna finish what they started and in very quick order. The terrier blood and all that other shit makes them slower which is a good thing cuz nothing no matter the breed can hold up when hittin something at 45 to 50 mph. You slow em down to 35 to 40 and now you got yourself a lurcher that can actually go out there and hunt with ya without as high a chance of gettin kilt. Plus the reason that a good foot greyho
  17. You want to see power, intensity, and an explosive psychotic behavior in a dog then look no further than a greyhound. The sumbitches are so crazy they will chase a damn stuffed bunny round a track.
  18. Next thing ya know yall gonna be on about how greyhounds arent intense enough either and that you need to add beddy to them to give them that extra bit of fire in their belly. HAHA! Let a beddy and a greyhound get into a fight on the yard over a deer carcus and tell me just how f****n intense Mr. Beddy is layin their with his throat and his guts tore out while bleeding intensely from a large gaping wound over his loins.
  19. Tell me of a breed of dog more powerful pound for pound than a greyhound then. All mastiff types, bull types, shepherd types, deerhounds..... Dnt get me wrong we need grey blood for there pace but I wouldnt add grey for power Deerhounds? Why cuz they are big tall rangy pieces of shit that cant run fast enough to scatter their own shit. Is this a joke? Please tell me it is.
  20. I thought we were talkin bout dogs from bout 26 to 28 inches which alot of greyhounds fall in that category and for dogs of that size they are f****n powerful. You dont get more power when you add other blood to them unless you get more size and weight. Greyhounds are extremely dense and heavily muscled. They are very powerful. There is no way in hell anybody is gonna convince me that a f****n shepherd or any other breed for that matter if the same size is as powerful as a greyhound.
  21. Tell me of a breed of dog more powerful pound for pound than a greyhound then.
  22. We dont even need em that big. I'd take a 26 or 27 inch gyp all day long if she'd catch and kill a coyote. If they get too small though they will NOT be able to hold a yote down. Coyotes may only be 30-35 pounds but they are as strong as any 75 pound dog out there. And to those sayin greyhounds aint powerful. HAHA! I need some of your drugs cuz you wont find a more powerful dog than a greyhound.
  23. If my sis was a hotty I might would try it. Anyhow, them dogs he is on about aint bred tight at all so why not throw em together and see what happens. Might be the best breeding he has ever made in his life.
  24. Fair post mate, sadly the sire and dam are no longer around. The parents are not related, my pal has his litter sister and she is a powerful animal doing the do but I would have concerns about keeping it that close As I say, we have time Make the bro x sis breeding. Dont be silly.
