Ideal would be windy, no moon and a drizzly rain, but if we sat in for them perfect nights we'd never be out. Foggy would be a no, icy hard ground no, full moon, with no wind, well I have done but not ideal.

I'm sure the law on shooting dogs worrying is that it should only be done after every other reasonable option has been attempted, after all a dog is still someone's property and the farmer could find himself in all sorts of bother if he just shoots at the drop of a hat.

You bet it is Ross..im already planning my next quest out whilst having a couple of beers just now ") .. the seasons end is fast approaching so need to put a few odds and sods to bed before then haha Seasons are getting shorter & shorter my friend, I probably have enough in freezer to do me but I might need another just to be on the safe side, also got to think to the future, these mutts ain't getting any younger!!! Of snow that is. Had the dugs out for a wander this morning, see if anything about, didn't expect much to be honest just happy to be out on such a brisk day, amazing how a wee bit snow can change the scenery. Long of the short terrier worked the reedy bit gave sound, lurchers got themselves into a position I heard a 'TWANG' and it was through the fence making its way across the field to the right, ah well!!

The little fella has been in the vet for a few days, lost 2kg, not eating & has kidney failure, 50/50 chance of survival, vet reckons that it's been an underlying kidney issue since birth and that the anaesthetic triggered something.

Haha..best post ive read since dinosaurs walked the earth!!! I too lived and breathed a life which seen me trawling the countryside in the hours of darkness with a dazzler in hand yet these days I enjoy my daytime forays, the days of returning home without the motor laden with game after been lamping and seeing me in a state of depression until I was back in the swing of filling the car regularly now seem a lifetime away..these days im often out with my pooches, my rucksack full of grub & treats for the dogs a flask and will trail around from dawn until dusk with little intention or want t
