On a page on FB, folk who sell and give away game etc, anyway some one put a post up, three boys got fined and charged for ferreting had a dog, long net, I make a wee comment and holy shit I’m scum etc ???
away to find my big spoon
Out this morning, just a wee wander with Jess out the back fields and through the woods, she was content hunting squirrels through the wood, cut through a field on the way back and I “see” a set of lugs about 100 yards away, getting closer and it’s no moving get to about 50 yards and realise it’s a rotten jaggy nettle still stood up. In my defence it was a funny light and the field was a funny length! Anyway few photos of the dug
To be fair it was one thing after the other today, I was 200 yards up the road before I remembered I hadn’t packed the ferrets, the lid popped of my greggs tea and burnt my mit, and I got lock jaw when I grabbed an electric fence… ?
To be fair speaking to the boy he’s probably gonna keep him, the dog was in a Kennel for 2 years and he took him away from that life and has showed him a bit work and the dog is showing potential, he was fair chuffed with him today… apart from when he shat in the back of his pick up ??
3 hours this morning with The ferrets, Jess and her litter brother, six accounted for, done this bit twice in the last month, it’s a clearance job, still holding a few but that’s close to 40 from it so far.
few photos
At the grand age of 2 and 2/3rds Jess caught her first rabbit and second. She’s well honed on the ferreting front which is what she primarily will be “but” itchy feet found me trying her on the lamp about a month a go and to put it bluntly she was horrific not watching the lamp and seeing nowt… tonight was a different story and you’d think she had done it for years. Conditions were shite nae wind and relativity light but I thought f**k it let’s see. Into the field and picked out a bunny and off she went, to be honest I don’t think she saw it and just went down the beam and stumbled across it,
