  1. I'm well versed in the art of hare spotting, do keep up mate. ?
  2. Roe Deer about as well but no slop runners. ?
  3. Can't spot em if they're not there fella. ?
  4. Am telling ya, eyes like a Golden Eagle, spotted this about 2 mile away, how do I know? Cos I said so! ?
  5. Tbh it's not that bad, slight crusting on top but soft underneath. Unwrap the cotton wool and get out there lol.
  6. How am I contradicting myself, any dog can be broken mate. And of course some dogs are flying by that age, are you saying they aren't? Are you still pissed from last nights half of Barnsley Bitter lad? Lol. Now where did I say I think folk should be slipping their 6-8 months on hares, if you're going to start fibbing at least make it believable. ?
  7. Zoning my eyes in mate, these exercises leave you with 20/5 vision. No need to carry hunting paraphernalia like thermals or binoculars with me, just call the dog and boom.
  8. Out in the deep fog practicing my eye training methods, after today I can safely say I'd spot a hare a county or two away.
  9. I just can't contain myself, I've got the Akita on a slip practicing some dummy runs, signs of rabbit everywhere but still, not a hare in sight.
  10. Sounds like a right sesh that does..... For a grandad. ?
  11. I'm disappointed in @mC HULL, I thought he'd be still plodding on gamely this morning. I bet he's deep in REM, dreaming about his young chargers shoulder deep in the slop.
  12. Not the best, bad night's kip. I'm working tonight as well, still, machines just plough on through. ?
  13. You just have to use your noggin don't you fella. I mean a big gangly deerhound type that is screaming out pup will mature a lot later than a beddy type or saluki type for that matter. I think the benefits of getting them out and about outweigh the risks of what if. Each to their own, some dogs are flying before they're 14-24 months but then again some are finished because stupid owners have ran them to death and sickened them.
  14. To the lads who enter late, who on here have actually held their dogs back until they're 14-24 months old? And by holding back do you mean do actually nothing with them until that age, no rabbiting, no lamping, no runs on fresh cut fields? You absolve them from any sort of hunting until that age, it's not something I've ever done tbh. If so how do you think it benefits the dogs, don't you think wrapping them up until that age could lead to injuries, something that you're trying to protect them from? I mean surely that won't be building the tendon strength up like actual
  15. Nice pup mate, has he had it on any rabbits yet?
  16. How old is she now Tikka, lovely pair mate.
  17. Are they yours Fens, nice pair, what's the breeding?
  18. What the hell are you doing man, those poor feet and joints.
  19. I'm thinking of entering my dog, he's real keen and I'm having to hold him back... On second thoughts I think I'll leave it a couple more years.
