my gator was bought at a store in shreveport louisiana. cooked it myself in a marsala. no fishyness to it. if i had to, i'd say the taste was close to some white meated rodents like squirrel or guinea pig, but that's still not quite right. really it has it's own taste. i rather like farm raised ostrich, now that had a flavor similar to beef. now when y'all say buffalo are you talking water buffalo? here we use it to mean bison. really good like a nice grass fed beef, i like it better than grain fed beef. my favorite red meats pronghorn antelope elk (wapiti) bison goat beaver wild boar

not croc but have had alligator. the cut i had came from a leg. it was dry white meat similar to turkey or chicken breast but w/ a different flavor i can't rightly describe but definitely not chicken.

the bite power is all hype. i've been tagged by 4 sheperds, a couple of bulldogs & several curs & hounds. the sheperds were the hardest bites by a huge margin. the difference is after the bite. the sheperds can't keep the hold long nor shake you very hard. the bulldogs short thick neck, heavy shoulders & broad chest allow him to throw you around a lot harder which is where the real damage comes in. also the hseperds quit easier than a bulldog. the sheperds broke down & tried to run once i laid into them. one bulldog was an accident and stopped himself after a slap on the nose.

the fellas round here run the bears like fox hunters run fox. it goes all day and doesn't often end w/ a catch. we get plenty of adolescents & older bears that walk, but only a few that really stand to on the ground. if a bear is walking it's because the dogs aren't biting him hard enough to get his attention. they're good jump dogs & run a track well but they just don't stop alot of bears no matter how many dogs get turned in. they could put more up the tree if they used rougher dogs like plott curs & black mouths or putting a touch of bull in a few pack hounds (the old timers who

anyone who prefers the looks of the pug faced Boxer to the looks of the alaunt can't be a working dog enthusiast. i agree they aren't the best choice for fast game, but if i'd give them a crack at hard game like bear & boar any day and i'd shell out $ for them before i would a boxer.

wolves, coyotes & dogs all understand they are not the same animals and so will go out of their way kill each other off and limit competition. coyotes & jackals treat foxes the same way. not all dogs treat fox this way. within my personal experience hunting bull & mastiff breeds don't give them a glance once they've been on something that can really fight like boar. my last bullXcur wouldn't run anything but bear, boar and cat.

what cross will consistantly be the fastest for the first 20-30yards? because of the small open areas and the short distance game comes from the heavy cover i need one that can blast out the gate like a drag car.

KILL THEM ALL AS FAST AS YOU CAN. they are horrible for the ecosystem. once their population gets some numbers they'll run the deer out of the area. eventually they'll cause the deer population to fall off a lot.

forgot to mention everytime you take the piss on someone for pics or different techniques (espescially if you call them unsporting or unethical) you are giving the anti's more dangerous ammo to use against you. it lets them wave it around & shout "see real (or ethical) sportsmen think we should get rid of this too" all the while using what you wrote completely out of context.
