over here we take our elk (wapiti) & big deer out by cutting it up and packing out the pieces on a packboard or in a good large ruck. when you're young you take about 100# at a time. as you get older the loads get smaller. don't see why it wouldn't work for a red.

the scotch staghound dog custer had was a freak of nature the bitch was just another dog. custer related a story about the dog running out the fort one day hell bent. the cook saw and went and told custer. custer saddled up went out and found the dog throating a prarie wolf. unfortunately back in that time pics were an all day event not like now. as for the size difference that's alot of BS. i've seen a pair of 50-60# cur dogs (catahoulas & black mouths) catch & hold 1500-1800# range bulls. i've seen bulldogs about the same size do the same all alone. as a teenage schoolboy, i had a d

again Custer caught a bison bull (twice as big as a red) w/ two deerhounds. the male caught the ear and rolled it. when it tried to get back to it's fee the male held the ear and the bitch held a hind leg. i put forth that some dogs are still capable it is the weak heart of the owners that fail the test. i will also admit that one out is likely the exception and always was but not to the point of disbelief that it is now.

maybe the dogs are weak from being show pieces. Gen George A. Custer caught a young bison bull (at least 500 KG) using two "scotch staghounds" which were a gift from Queen Victoria. so if it wasn't illegal i don't doubt a large lurcher or deerhound could take a stag. perhaps someone w/ the financial means could try it on one of the game ranches in Texas.

thank you very much

i would like to find someone to mentor myself and my daughter. we live in Eagle Mountain, Utah. Thanks for any help.

i count them as a pack ONLY if they work together. they can all follow the same line & not be working together.

fecking culling what a lowlife tosser your attitude is contributory to the weakening of breeds & lines. because sure enough when you give that crap dog away to be someones pet, it will get bred & the pups sold for a wad of cash because they "come from a champion line or are off a truly great grafter." ultimately crap dogs of any breeding are easier to come by than good ones because ignorant twats have the stupidity to breed but not the sack to cull.
-
i wouldn't mess w/ anyones animals, it's not their fault they are owned by a twat. but i would definitely get revenge.

i dunno Dan, they'd probably do a fair job of catching pissant, wannabe badass but secretly gay "gangstas." that is some hunting i'd rather enjoy.
-
i don't know who takes them but Marcelo always has great photos from his hunts.

the anatolian sheperd was founded w/ mutts by a US air force officer. when he decided to "write" a standard he copied the standard for the ahkbash but wrote that any color was acceptable. the first buyers found their dogs couldn't meet the standard & couldn't produce pups that met the standard either. further the turks consider it a mutt and only recognize the ahkbash, the kangal & the kars as breeds. it is americans & brits of the show fancy that attempted merge the ahkbash & the kangal w/ their mutts. i would tend to believe the turks know their dogs better than a bunch of sh

hypothetical (make believe), so money doesn't matter (or maybe it does if you want to keep it realistic) say you wanted to bring back a KC breed like the yorkie or westie, which would it be & how would you try to do it?

should be fair hogdogs

it funny how you talk about hunting the EBT in packs & such. as far as i am aware of the Ozzie hogdoggers are the only people that have hunted EBTs extensively in the last half century. talking with them they say the EBT is just as dog aggressive as an APBT and the main reason they switched was the increased endurance of the APBT. they told me that other than better endurance & heat tolerance there wasn't a hair's difference in their hunting ability & dog aggression. but that is just what the Ozzies told me. personally i think the hunting stuff is the same kind of nonsense being t

ALL bull & terriers were invented for matching. it just so happened that the same speed, grit & agility made them good in the rat pits & badger baits. Hinks may well have invented his cross for the show ring but plenty were pitted and did well. as for hunting well the Ozzies used EBT for a long time until they got good APBTs. then they switched in droves for a reason. as a whole bull & terriers have been & still are crap for guard dogs. yeah there are exceptions that excelled at it but THEY ARE THE EXCEPTIONS. you need more bulldog or mastiff to CONSISTANTLY get good guar

after watching their buddies get caught they will learn to avoid traps & teach their young the same. so yeah dogs are going to be important. also can you legally use bows, good for shooting over bait and no noise to alert anyone to whats going on.
