The clueless goat

Hello all new member of the forum, I’m here to learn and pick up some tips. Currently shooting with a air rifle, but looking to put in for my fire arms lisence when I’ve moved into my new house. Any tips when applying? I’ve got reason to own a rifle ( I work on a poultry farm and have permission to shoot the land surrounding ) any suggestions on Calibre? . cheers
