  1. Well in the 6 months I’ve trained her and the 4 months I’ve worked her she’s showing good potential to be a nice dog then, I’d imagine if you’d a dog after a year you’d know if she was decent or not? she’s a bit small but fast and first dropper I had for her she smashed on the first turn, her mothers a full greyhound x staffy and her fathers a beagle x terrier, good dog for rabbits which is all I want her for hence my interest in whippets
  2. There wasn’t a bad thing said in my post In fact not one of ye anywhere near answered any of my questions or gave me advice ye all just concentrated on what I asked about breeding ye picked the one thing ye don’t like just to complain by The looks of it
  3. I have worked a dog I’ve a dog right now but Ive never worked whippets I did I’m new enough to the sport but I’ve been working my dog for about 4 months now not a long time but I’ve still been well capable of bringing her on to be a good working dog. I wouldn’t breed off a dog any younger than 4 years actually so not a chance I’d have pups out a 2 year old bitch
  4. Obviously it’ll take years I’m not simple, I want to put years into it if ya haven’t got a good word to say p*ss off and find something better to do
  5. That’s entirely my plan me and my cousin are getting two whippets to start see how we go we’re going to work them for a good while with a few ferrets, 100% going to breed down the line though no matter who says what as I’d love to start my own line, any idea if there’s a big difference in showing and working dogs? Or could you also show a working whippet?
  6. Well I’d appreciate if these dog men would see in clearly interest in the breed as a whole and yeah I’m curious as to how big there litter sizes are? Just a simple question that everyone seems to have taken up wrong, and if you don’t like the post leave it rather than telling me to f*ck off my own post.
  7. That was my plan anyway was looking to expand my knowledge is all not gonna jump straight into breeding but I’m most definitely gonna jump straight into reading up and gaining as much knowledge as I can about it
  8. I was asking those questions out of interest as I said I’m looking to gain all knowledge possible there’s nothing wrong with me gaining this knowledge now and breeding in 3/4 years time when I know what I’m doing, and I’m most definitely not a wanna be puppy miller.
  9. I’ve obviously got a job if I’m looking to invest in a good dog, seems like everyone’s just taking it up the wrong way and thinks I’m looking to make a living off of pups ?? was looking for a bit of advice but you won’t get anything but bitter old men on this site who obviously have no intention of keeping the sport alive through interested young lads ?
  10. I don’t want to just buy a good whippet, I’d rather invest in a great whippet and keep the line going, thanks mate I’ll have a look at the book!
  11. Hi all, very new to this kind of sport always had an interest in getting involved and only recently have found the time to start up also I’m based in Ireland. not sure if I’m posting this in the right place but hope ya can help me out with any advice possible I’m very eager to pick up as much info as possible. ive never bred dogs or ferrets but have experience Breeding sheep and poultry, nowhere near the same I’m sure but I’ve dealt with young animals and am well aware of the time/money/care needed to invents in such Things and I’m fully prepared to put everything into this.
