  1. Have seen one once but not on my hunting ground.
  2. Sorry I dont have wolfhunting in my part of the country. Here are they not allowed to stay as reindeer herding would be almost impossible.
  3. Whats a Lymey? As long as we get exchange from the finnish/russian wolfs they are doing fine, culling are done from family groups with less important genetics.
  4. The Swedish king in the 1790s were afraid of a revolution of the French style so he let the hunting free for common men, never happened in UK.
  5. Accuracy tends to get worse in 222r between 45-55gr copper bullet.
  6. An article about this years wolfhunting in Sweden, bias by animal rights activists. They are going to try to shoot about 70 wolves of a population of about 500 most of the animals are this years cubs so it has only minor effect on the population. The Scandiavian wolf are the same as the europen so they are not endangered. Hunters go home empty-handed on first day of Sweden’s biggest wolf cull | Wildlife | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM Hunters allowed to kill 75 wolves from an already endangered population of 460 amid ‘political pressure’ from hu
  7. A lot of roaddeers then I drove to work I had to drive at walking speed so the about 30 reindeers could get around the car. Abput 50cm of snow nice to have a snowmobile.
  8. SAAMI specification for .243win are 1/10 //saami.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/ANSI-SAAMI-Z299.4-CFR-Approved-2015-12-14-Posting-Copy.pdf Then Remington discovered they had a disadvantage for the .244rem its only stabilizing 90gr bullets they had to make a renaming to 6mm rem with a faster twistrate to compete with .243win who had already became popular. A new example are 6,8Westerner who is a shorter 270wssm with a faster twistrate to take heavy bullets. If new ammunition get produced what old rifles cant handle the customers will get confused, of cause a reloader will have a benefit of
  9. What is new out of the calibers specification.
  10. Two new 243 have come 6creedmoore ,6 arc they have a faster twist they stabilize 108gr long match bullets, still old 243 are not helped by it.
  11. Yes this is a similar type of small game hunting you guys do, its easy to find areas for small game here and its huge areas with very little people.
  12. Yes it will be a disaster for target shooting in UK , varminting become expensive and have to be made with bigger calibers. Old shotguns almost useless. I cant see why they ban target shooting with lead as you can pick it up/filter it from the range if you need the area for different use. Different caliber classification? a .243win may not stabilize a 100gr copper bullets.
  13. I skin it, salt and pepper fry the outside in butter, cook it ready in a kettle with an onion and a carrot. Make a gravy of the fond in the kettle after i have taken up the bird and some creme fraiche. Serves with boiled potatoes or roasted vegetables.
  14. I drove out to Skröven for hunting I arrived 10.10 just after it gets bright enough. Then I had skiied for 200m I took of my sweater and put it in my backpack and loaded the Bergara 300blk I skiied 100m more more and then I saw hmmm is what a blackgrouse? Yes took support on my backpack and shot it. After what I skiied for 5-6km did only see tracks of caper, black grouse and hazel grouse. The weather brought a bit snow but I also had a bit sun with pink clouds and some blue sky, -9-13c really nice. I came back to my car 14.15 in then it begunn to get dark. Pictures from Kamlunge ra
  15. You can tell your local hunting store to make an order for lighter ammo in .308w after you get your license, if they dont you change store.
  16. A 1/11 barrel are perfectly fine for monometal bullets I load for a friend who use them and my brother use them to, 308w are the most popular caliber in europe so you cant go wrong with it, almost every european ammunition manufactorer makes both monometal and cup and core ammo in .308w and for 180gr bluntnose monometal 1/12 are just fine as its the standard twistrate for the .308w. 165gr monometal are heavy hitting bullets enough for bear and moose 95% retained weight after a hit a cup and core with good construction have to be about 200gr to have similar retained weight about 60-80%.
  17. Yes as a stumpy bullet Lapua Naturalis are recomended to have a impact speed at least 1600fps a Lapua Naturalis 180gr who starts at 2600fps has what speed to about 450m. Lapua list they 170gr Naturalis cartridge in .308w for 1/11 twistrate. ( V0 2625fps .354bc1) 1632fps at 450y. Never shot at anything at 400m so its plenty of range for me. Most monolitic bullets are made to expand at 1600 or 1800fps so longer range means a bigger cartridge are needed. The bullets intended for hunting with 300blk subsonic expand at 1000fps.
  18. Hornady lists 1/10 for their 190gr CX (long tipped bullet), for their 180gr and less CX they have not cared to put out a number so i guess a factory .308w are fine. Cupper Bear are giving load data for 308w 184gr bullet semi pointed, worked well in my 308w 1/11. Lehigh defense recomends 1/8 for their .308 194gr maximum expansion subsonic bullet,
  19. I have tryed 180gr copper bullets in my 1/11 Tikka t3 .308w and had great precision. I think 150-167gr are the best weights for .308w and lead free.
  20. Polar night here the sun are not over the horizon, its still light from 09,30-14,00.
  21. I was thinking about the .357 leveraction you has in Sweden a model 92 in 44-40 would work for black powder competition. You can also use a blackpowder cartridge revolver what i think is legal in UK (a Swedish model 1887 8mm costs £ 200-250) I have a replica of a 1858 Enfield costed £ 400. A 1867 rolling block costs £200-400. You shoot 13 rounds either standing at 25m,50m pistol standing at 50m with rifle or laying prone at 100m with rifle. For me a competition costs about £50 in fees and £20 in ammunition. With the practice you have done it would be easy to compete in this sor
  22. Max half choke or exchangable choke to be able to use steel shot are a must to be able to use the shotgun in the future. A cheap new gun or a quality used one ~1000£ would get you in to the game so you know exactly what you want when/if you want to upgrade it later.
  23. No I dont think barrel lenght has any thing to do with how long bullet you can use, but speed and twist rate. Vihtavuori lists all from 100gr to 156gr bullets for a 1-10twist raate barrel so you should be fine with a short barrel and light bulllets. Maybee long pointy bullets get stuck in the action during cycling. Perfect cartridge for hunting birds in top of trees in Scandinavia.
