    I was hunting with Lars yesterday, we tented and hunted along a creek. We set up the tent and made a moose dinner on the fire. Went out and hunted about 19.00 we saw a lot of bird activity in the stream had a nice warm spring evening , changing winds made us move along the creek so we stalked the side of the creek until we came down to the hud and had the wind in our face. We should have talken the kayak (We had it with us) instead as it was difficult to walk quiet enough.     I did a little icefishing in Norrbotten Sweden during easter here is some pictures. It was changing weather but not so bad, we got four Arctic Chars.

    No the military practice ammo are lead free. Only the combat ammo have lead core, it also has a steel or tungsten insert for penetration.

    One box of 308w Hornady GMX (copper alloy) cost £69 and one box of Hornady sst costs £49 thats 1,4x.     I was also taught by following my father and uncles on hunts, helping to pull out mooses from the forest and skinning them as the old hunter tought the young ones should do their part. I also did the usual fishing, treehouses, making fires, snowmobile driving, camping and hiking. I also had nature and hunting education in my secondary and high school years in northern Sweden. I took my basic huntining examina as 14y as a voluntarly part of high school.     To be able to get a firearm license for hunting in Sweden you must have a hunting education, my friend Lars are trying to get an theoretical and practical(shooting) course for the last 1,5 year but last summer it was canceled because of covid. You can take part in hunting together with an experienced hunter and use their rifle/shotgun then you hunt close together. Last week I did a scouting tour for beaver and found two fresh places a logging/eating place and 5km apart a hud had fresh branches on it, now it has been about 8-10c in northern Sweden so beavers are active.     Today I sightened the Bergara with 110gr Sierra Varmint it shoots spot on at both 50m and 125m. A jug of water was successfully killed too.

    Here in Sweden we use US1-3 for roedeer, 3-6 for fox, hare, capercaillie, 6-8 for smaller game.

    British firearm regulation are always a joy to learn about. In Sweden you apply for your hunting firearms license then you have taken your huntingexam and have them until the police say you cant have them any because you have commited a crime or your doctor informs the police you are unfit for having firearms. The doctors often forget to ask about firearms or driver licenses or forget to give the police the information.

    Dont use daycron or other fillers in bottleneck cartridges it may cause pressure spikes, the same if a metal gascheck come loose inside a bottleneck cartridge. Hogdon trail boss are recomended for low velosity modern cartridges. You have a pefect object for cast bullets in your Mosin-Nagant .311/200gr. Is what rifle against the wall a sportizised SKS?

    Put your skiis in a V shape let yourself fall forward while keeping the muzzle a little high so you dont get snow in it, then you hit the snow you are hopefully in a shooting position and can fire on the target hold your elobows and knees firmly in the snow to get a firm position. If you get snow in your rifle the barrel may blow up or jam the mechanics.

    Nice to see them working. How much cleaning did you have to do? You were pushing the bullets way to fast, did you clean between the test series? Were the failing rounds to long or did you have to light neck tension? As for weapon technology thats almost as good as a Husqvarna model 1860.

    I like CZ pistols, BRNO rifles and Colt percussion revolvers but Colts current production seems outdated only Colt Canada has a well going military production. Its difficult to sell nice european quality guns to americans who expect them for half the price. Remington went bankrupt last year even then guns were selling at all time high.

    Then you dont`t have to worry it get to dark. Oil it once a year for a lifetime.

    If you use linseed oil it will get darker with every layer but it might take 70-100y before it to dark.

    Cupper bullets riccochet in rifle speed, saw a video then a guys hat were nocked of then he shot a .270w. Steelshot riccochet in shotgunspeed IF you hit a rock they fly everywere.

    I shot a pellet rifle at a oak board ad a kid had to stop then the bullets hit my leg.
