I think he’ll manage to get himself out of that though, because people wait that long for the original stuff they’d have a new dog by the time they got a replacement ?
-
Took 11 weeks for stuff to arrive, every time I phoned him he seemed like he didn’t have a clue what he was talking about. I found his leather poor as well cracked really easily after a bit of normal use. Know other people who’ve bought stuff from him and had the same experience. Bellman and Flint stuff totally different class & cheaper, can order Monday and have it by Wednesday, better quality leather and I think better looking as well.

Nice bitch best of luck, when’s she due in season? Better seeing the potential dogs run this season if you can
-
I’ve had stuff off Paul Sullivan in the past terrible service & I thought his stuff was shit to be fair. Bellman & Flint close second to BDT in terms of leatherwork, but for collars in general it’s got to be Strong Stuff.

I prefer dogs to 99.9% of people

I was meaning a 1st cross whippet x greyhound John
-
Lovely bitch, if I saw a good 1st cross litter id be tempted always had a soft spot for them
-
How’s she bred? Never owned anything like that myself but always fancied one, a lot of small fields where I live that I normally don’t bother running but you’d have some sport with that type
-
Done the right way, cracking pups & mother looks in top condition, best of luck with them

Been gone a while now, best leather collars on the market

Good offer, and a very good idea for anyone serious about improving a strain that’s gone backwards -
Wasn’t intended as a dig at you, theres a few men it applies to though but best left alone ?
-
In my book its the man behind the dog that makes it what it is, the training, conditioning, feeding & effort to put the game in front of it gives you the finished article.

If you’re sport is rabbits, and you’ve got a good rabbiting bitch, then find a good rabbiting dog that you like and use that on her. Same applies for hares, deer, teeth, or any variation of the lot. Thats how simple it is, doesn’t need to be over complicated.

Worst hunting site about full of grasses

Surely a lines only as good as the men running it, if you're idea of testing is a few runs a fortnight when the dogs fresh & well rested you won’t have much success. If you’re prepared to travel, push your dog out of its comfort zone and get rid of failures then you’ll probably do ok. But I don’t keep a line I just keep anything that does the job so to be fair I’m not really clued you’re on line breeding ?
-
For me the most important things are the dog in the kennel right now & the man behind it, it can have whatever pedigree it wants if the lad that’s got it isn’t keen & game enough to get out and give it loads of work it’ll never make anything. Ive known a few with outstanding bloodlines & potential but they’ve been given to a half hearted owner so all the potentials meaningless, because they’ll never get a chance to fulfill it.

A very common thing, another thing with line breeding as well a man will breed off a poor or untested dog, because he owned the mother/grandmother and thought a lot of her, which is fine if thats what works for them but they can’t then say they’ve got a fully tested line, because there’s been a link put in thats not been tested
-
I think breedings important to an extent but people look too much in to it, a dogs grandparents can’t run for it, and how many lines is there where the men can honestly say they’ve tested every dog fully and only bred best to best since the very beginning? Barely any i bet. I’ve had dogs with extensive fancy pedigrees going back 30+ years, and the best dog I’ve ever owned was just a scatterbred lurcher x lurcher that cost £100.

Please refer to previous comment where I said I didn’t know him
-
I’d have a crack at one of them over the saluki types without a doubt, they look a much nicer example of their breeds than the other 2
-
You’ll get the odd exception, but most men I’ve met that compete with their dogs aren’t working them hard in between events, they do just enough to keep them right but not take the edge off them. If you’ve got a trial or event you really want to win you wouldn’t risk taking your dog in to that tired, sore or carrying an injury would you
-
I didn’t say anything negative about the man, I don’t know him so that would be stupid, just an observation, big difference between a hard working dog & a trialling dog IMO. One has to perform 2/3 times a week the other may only have to perform 2/3 times a year. I wouldn’t want the blood of a competition type dog in a line of workers.

I just mix up chicken, beef, tripe, sardines & some seaweed as a natural multivitamin. This young dog I’ve got at the moment looks best on an all meat & fat diet, if I cut down the meat & add carbs he loses condition quite quickly.
