Well, you’ve obviously proven yourself and earned these permissions on your own merit. Well deserved and all the best to you. ?

Looks like a nice bit of shooting land bn?

That’s quick, I posted mine on Monday, if it’s back as quick as yours I’ll be happy, if not amazed?. Enjoy your shopping ??

Are these the ones? The copper ones are sellier & bellot and there’s a few rws acorn brand lead ones mixed in. They run at about 850 FPS and weigh 16 grains. Only accurate up to about ten yards though, depending on the rifle.
-
They are lighter than the beretta, the maxus that I borrowed was 30 inch, which made it too long for me. I would’ve liked to have tried the 26 inch maxus. That’s when I bought the A400 xtreme, no regrets with it, but it’s a solid piece and mostly gets reserved for ducks, geese and foxes. I also have an AL391 teknys gold 20 gauge which is better suited to carry around on vermin duties than the xtreme. That said, the xtreme is more versatile overall, makes relatively light work of heavy loads when required. It seems to absorb them better than the maxus that I borrowed.

Same here Phil?

I think plenty of practice is vital for anyone who shoots live quarry.

They’re wierd looking, but handle lovely. I tried the 28 inch and the 26 inch. I preferred the 26. I’ve seen some offered for a decent price second hand. A bit marmite in the looks department though. I like ‘em.

I bought an A400 xtreme when they first came out, cycles anything from 24 gram 2 inch to 63 gram 3:1/2 inch. Never jammed, never missed a beat. Have you looked at benelli sbe?, might be worth considering?

Just posted the paperwork, decided to go for .22. I was tempted by .25, but after much consideration I think .22 will fill the gap better for me. Thanks for the information everyone ?

So does mine, but he won’t let me near it. Can’t imagine why?........

Brilliant tom?

I wouldn’t invest in .17 Mach2, ammo is virtually obsolete now. Old stock being sold off cheap as not many people want it. It was doomed from the start as a calibre that nobody wanted or needed, hmr does everything that mach2 does and more. I think that in not many years from now it will be a calibre that people forgot.?

I handled the 12 as well as the 20 in the shop. It made the choice easy for me, I walked out with the 20.
-
Ahh, just when I thought I’d decided ?. I used to favour .25 at 12ft lbs for clearing ferals, and it was very effective. In fact, I still have a 12ft lb .25?
-
Thanks for the information, I’m thinking I might find .22 more useful overall for my needs. What ft lbs do they run on low power if you don’t mind me asking? sorry to see you’ve had your stuff stolen. Thieving barstewards should have their hands removed. Total scum.?
-
Thanks for that pav, I’d probably stick at 32ft lb with pellets then, and use a .22 rimfire if I needed more?

Yes, the fibre wad hi flyers are subsonic, but plastic wads aren’t for some reason. It’s on eley hawk website, just click on the hi flyers 20 gauge and then click on speciations and I think they’re listed at 1070 or something like that. I find that the red dot helps me due to the moderator as you just see the dot. The twenty is multi choke and comes with full choke fitted as standard. I had the fourten as well, but sold it as it didn’t have the knockdown power of the twenty. I’d say that the twenty is a little heavier, but a good bit more versatile, and just a little louder than the fourten. I

I’ve got one, I bought a picatinny rail off flea bay and fitted a red dot sight. Works well for me. I use eley hi flyer fibre. They’re quiet and effective.

Great replies, thanks fellas. Still not sure which to go for..........? Could I ask what shot count can be expected in .25 standard set up, and what shot count in .22 at both 33ft lb and 40 ft lb? This could be a deciding factor. Thanks in advance ?

I’m putting a variation in for an fac air rifle. Also, I think it will most likely be a crown. The thing is, would I be better off with .22 or .25 with regard to versatility? I’m not interested in chasing rimfire performance as I already have those and centrefire, so it will be used mainly in situations where a rimfire would be too dangerous or unsuitable. I would be interested in your opinions before I submit the paperwork, especially anyone who has used both of these calibres in fac air. I should also say that I don’t want both .22 and .25, just one or the other. Thanks in advance.

Sgc and required gp letter/merseyside police
Dervburner replied to McKay's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Why would police ask for medical information and then tell doctors not to give it? Doesn’t make any sense. -

You are entitled to your own medical records, they can’t refuse, but they can charge £10 I believe. Neither police or anyone else can withhold your medical records from you, they are your records and you can request them at any time you wish.
