Hi, i am sorry to say, i didnt see your dog race in one of the races?? I watched it through out the show, and you. A lovely dog as well, did very well, but i never saw it race. And to be honest when you were showing him, a few of us commented what a great sized dog, but thought it wasnt a working dog, but a show dog.. Unfortunately Merlin is a class one barger when racing, his only aim in life is to bring down what he is sent after and in the excitement of racing he can be unpredictable. Not wishing to be sued by any one after he demolishes their dog I therefore refrain from racing, after

Dont know about small lurcher day but my boys were there showing and racing and they are WELL OVER 26"!!!! Pleased to say that my rough coat MERLIN won the EDRD qualifying class and their championship prize..many thanks to the judge for the award and lurcherworld for their hospitality. Only disappointment was that both the sim coursing and racing was not really spacious enough for the larger dogs BUT thats not the fault of Lurcherworld..they only have a certain amount of space they are given and they do make the best of it. Overall the family had a good day out going around the fa

Any chance you took any photos of the racing?I saw someone at the finishing end with a camera but as I was at the start with my lurcher I don't know if any were taken or not. Blaze won the over 26" title so it would be nice if someone had caught him on his way to that. Great pics so far,a grand show- I really enjoyed my day out in spite if the worst tea stall I've ever encounterd BUT you can't have everything eh? Lookng forward to next year, thanks to all concerned

My OH and I took our 2 lurchers Sunday..what a day..pouring down!! Stayed at the lurcher events and didnt see the rest of the show, the OH stayed put in the car with the roughcoat Merlin while I took Blaze for the over 23" racing. After a good soaking waiting for our turn we did get a small ray of sunshine...so to speak... as Blaze was over 23" champion racer, his second title in a row as he took the same title at Arbury. The rain suddenley didn't matter quite so much. If the Brannons (organisers of lurcher events are reading this) THANKS VERY MUCH FOR YOUR EFFORTS they were very much appr

Thanks for all the info folks. My boy is a little better today but black and blue .I have invested in arnica tabs and some witch hazel as directed by as greyhound trainer but have not got painkillers as Merlin is daft enough to want to go again already even though he's having to drag himself down the garden. Some never learn do they!!!

Whilst running yesterday my deerhound cross ran into an immovable object and now is very stiff and sore.It is difficult for him to do more than potter around as his stifles, hocks and feet are obviously quite stiff and painful. He has no obviously dramatic injuries I am glad to say but I suspect soon he will be very bruised. Can anyone suggest a good remedy for pain relief and the above symptons, I have seen painrite greyhound paste for painrelief but am told that this will just allow him to ignore the pain and to exercise freely which isnt what I want as I wish to restrict him for a while until
