  9. Sounds like the dog was in full prey drive and made an error for this reason alone. But you say its a hard feild for the dog which in my opinion would have added extra stress on the decisive reaction strike Hope it works out, be ashame if it its not the above. YIS D
  10. Well im blown way with these pics, great snaps dude and the dogs look outstanding. Hats off to you buddy. OUT AND OUT DOGMAN ATB D
  11. No probs buddy, this is my knife, ive had it a good few years and its been my allotment knife along with other tasks and still as good as the day i had it Theres some good knife makers in the craft section who i would glady buy off, ive purchased 3 knives off here that im looking forward to getting my hands on shortly, so worth putting a wanted post in there http://www.william-powell.co.uk/products/outdoors/knives/damascus-rosewood-folding-pocket-knife.html YIS D
  12. I have a nice folding knife i brought from William Powel gun shop, its been a very good knife keeping a very good edge for long periods of time and used almost daily, i usually take it to a game fair and play the knife lads off against each other to see who gets it the sharpest, that keeps me til the next event. I think a lot depends on the quality of the steels used, so worth paying for the best you can afford IMO. YS D
  13. I would reccomend a KC good behavior coarse for yourself as much as the dog, its a very cheap and will cover most things you will need in the feild and much more. Good luck and all the best with the pup. D
  14. I agree mate a lot gets taken the wrong way on tinterweb, i dont know it aint for the older lads me thinks, only a few can really express what there trying to say with words and others including myself get frustrated trying (bit like the kid at school with the bad stutter) how red did he get at times. In real life when the beer flows and the craic comes out all the snides usually forgotten soon enough. I hope we can come up with somthing, deffo needs to be testing IMO (build a team spirit before the scoops)
  15. The offle i keep down to twice a week, the tripe 5 days on ATB D

  19. I;ll look into that as im all for raising money for kids, also i was looking at this one http://www.london2brightonchallenge.com/charities.php . So far there seems to be more women showing interest than men, sounds like a fun walk to me. ATB D
  20. Well its good that we have some interest for a start, im happy to do my fair share of Donkey work to get things up and running. I thought we would have more interest especialy with all the road walking threads i read in the Lurcher section. But if this thread stays possotive and the right guys jump on it then we could have a succesfull fund raiser here. Im setting a couple of challenges to myself at the moment and have been looking into the three peaks (sounds bizzare) YIS Dougie
  21. A lot of lads on here walk for fun, would anyone be interested in a serious long distance walk, for a charity most popular in a Hunting Life thread, maybe a dog walk across the Lakes or somthing alike. Just a thought ?? Also what happened to THL auctions? Would be good for hunting if a community this big could raise money for the more needy folk of Britain. Any other ideas? YIS D
  22. Well done Ray, big task bringing a kid up today and keeping them on the right road, hats off to you all. Best wishes D
