Thanks Ash, thats the method im gonna go for this year, although i do have a very aggressive hive and would hate to miss a queen cell, i wouldnt want these going AWOL, I THINK IM BEST DESTROYING THIS QUEEN AND REPLACING WITH A CARNOLIAN OR SOMTHING?? I LIKE MY MONGREL BEES AS THEY ARE GREAT AT PRODUCING AND ALSOP PROTECTING THEMSELVES BUT I SUPPOSE I HAVE A DUTY TO NOT LET THEM GET TO ANGRY. ATB D

Its mad to think of them as meat eaters really, but when i was a wee boy me and ma dad breed budgies and my dad would hang cooked chickens for them, (somthing geoff capes usaed to do with his budgies (and they could rip yellow pages up wi there wings LOL). Really looking forward to getting them on a nice balanced diet, also im looking for some other stuff like asil or shamo, maybe somthing a bit different? CHEERS KIDDA

  4. Thanks Craigyboy much appreciated mate I never even thought about maggots, great idea that is, i do feed my warrens mealworm and they go mad for it. I will hang the greens high once theyve grown strong enough, let them earn there greens. Cheers again Craig (toplad)

  7. Does anyone have any tips on bringing up game birds? are there any training methods to get them in good shape? What is the very best diet you could feed, also i read they crave protein?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated thankyou D
  8. As the title says, ive purchased a quantlet today, just thought they were awsome looking birds, i dont think there renound for there gameness but a fine looking bird all the same. They were 13 weeks old and already a tidy size bird.

  14. Im really new to these mate, i hatched a couple in an incubator. Cant really advise, but i like them very much with good nature, quite commical really and they make some funny noises. IM GOING TO A POULTRY MARKET TOMORROW SO HOPING SOMTHING NICE TAKES MY EYE. ATB D

  19. Cheers buddy, i know the type, in fact that would have been me 19 years ago LOL. I remember shouting at my off the lead dog for walking in the road (i must have been 17 -18), when this old lady came and gave me a bollaking and then gave me some educating, i never looked back.
  20. 5 Months blimey, thats a big lad. The last thing they do is break your heart, my original bitch was PTS at the age of 17, she still wouldnt give up bless her and right up to the last day she was top dog of the pack. Not many live to that age. Got any more pics mate? Cheers Kittlerox

  22. I hatched two old english game birds about six months ago and one of them has knocked her wing to the point she cant hold it up. Im looking to buy some new birds now so the one will not be on her own if i have to cull the other one. Anyone have anything available?? Wouldnt mind some bigger stuff like an aseel or simular also. Thank D
