Yes conventional vets wont touch her . The vet that will do would prefer to have her spayed at same time. Why I am a little confused he said it would justify her going under anesthesia. This vet is in the farm vets and sporting life . So I was confused to that. I just thought I would come to like minded people. Who whee on the same page. The person who bred her was not a shooter and her dog was a pet so hence she couldn't have them docked at correct age . I wish I had found her earlier but thought I was ok with the one I found but she gained parvo virus and her whole litter was wiped out. W

As you see this is nothing to do with micro chipping. It says that it has to be done by a vet and under anesthesia. Think we will just have to leave it . I thought I may get some help but I dont want to push people's buttons. I really just wanted some help on this matter . My working cocker was done at 7 months old by my old after a day in the field working with pheasants and this was because I chose to keep her tail . Never again .it was horrendous . My girl had a litter and all where done at 3 days old . The horrendous unnecessary injuries sustained in the field due to these silly recomm

If the puppy is more than 5 days old, the procedure should only be performed under anaesthesia, preferably not before 8 weeks of age. Many undocked adult animals undergo the tail docking procedure out of necessity when their tail has been traumatised, but this is considered a tail amputation, not a tail dock. this is on basc when site ??

I can assure u this I am definitely no anti . I am genuine through and through I know I am a newbie here but we actively hunt and love it . My husband itches to get out soon as he can . He always says he was born with salt water in his veins the estuarys are starting to call already lol

I was also a little confused at to why said vet whom I wong mention said that but after researching. I found many quoted vet comments that it could be done as long as vet was happy with it with correct paperwork in hand ie game keeper paperwork shot gun licence . And if not done at 3,5 days old should be left till 8 weeks and no more that 12 weeks old that's why I asked

I can assure u I did have a vet who has retired . We have been shooting for 40 years plus . Am not an anti . And it's only because I have bought outside breeding my own dogs that I have a pup with a tail . The pup I had that was docked unfortunately died at 5 weeks old . Before I got her . I found my now pup but it was way to late for the initial 3.4 days old mark :-(. I have predominantly had spaniels . But have decided working on the estuarys I needed a stronger dog to work with so have had an Italian spinone. Yes I am new to this site . But I did have a vet . That was happy to do at

I am looking for a vet in the west midlands area that will tail doc . My puppy was only advertised at 8 weeks old so found her late on . If I had only got to her sooner would not have been a problem . The problem we have now is she is 8 weeks old and although we have a licence and we work our dogs in the field this is still not enough even though it can be done vets dont like to do it unless there is another procedure being done . Ie spaying ?? I was told that if I was to spay my bitch he would have done it immediately. I said that i had all intentions of having a litter from her as long as h
