Its not painful but if you are worried take a couple of painkillers and hour or so beforehand...
  2. Brilliant. We're in the process of setting up a mini's team that my daughter wants to play for but its taking its time. Our senior squad was rife with injuries on saturday, a broken nose 2 mins in and he played the whole match! That and a few split eyebrows but we stuffed the other side.

    Mini heatwave

Lovely here on the south coast too, hoping it lasts longer than summer did...
  4. Does anyone remember the Wye beagles that were stolen a few years back? The whole pack was tattooed and only 1 was ever recovered and his ear had been sewn up in such a way that the tattoo was no longer visible. If people want to steal an animal then NOTHING will deter them but I think freeze marking may well put most people off. Is there a recognised register as with tattooing? Its definately something I would consider in future, mine are all chipped and the tattoo's on the greys are linked to their chips now but I think its a good idea.
  5. I've only been here for a year but in that time i've seen more bitching here than on any other forum i've used. Now don't get me wrong, I love this site it can be very informative at times and a good old laugh but the bitching is so out of hand sometimes. Too many people have thrown their toys out of the pram, said they are going and then swan back in and behave in exactly the same way and then we lose genuine members that have a lot to say and lots of info and advice like Ditch and Moll (who thankfully came back) who was very helpful on here and another forum for me. We've all got a c
  6. I'm serious and passionate about my hunting but I also like to be quite a girly girl at times, is that a crime now then? I like to have a laugh and a joke just like the next person but when the thread calls for it. I won't deliberately go out of my way to hijack a thread for my own purposes and never have. I've been quite honest about the amount of lurcher work that i've done but that doesn't mean i'm any less passionate about it than the next person, the type of hunting I have most experience in is hunting with hounds, but i'd still love to learn more about other types of hunting. I

Dear Santa, I would like a lottery win or a rich man please...  In all seriousness i'd like another horse but its looking highly unlikely unless santa grants my first request...
  8. I can't drink Whiskey, I don't like the taste and it doesn't seem to like me much either. I am partial to the odd Jack Daniels or Southern Comfort however, seems the yank crap suits me better.
  9. I'm Rachael, 27 and grew up on a beef farm. I used to go rabbiting with my dad when I was small but once I got into horses they were really all I was interested in until I reached my 20's. I've always hunted though with my mum, I follow the local Foxhound pack and sometimes go out with Beagles and Minkhounds. I have a daughter who is 7 and 3 running dogs, Griff a lurcher and Paris and Phoenix my greyhounds. I do a bit of pottering around with Griff but nothing too serious really. I hope to do more with him at some point though. Paris is a retired racer and I only found out recently through thi
  10. Mostly its banter as far as i'm concerned. I've never really had to worry about being taken seriously with the type of hunting I do as a vast number of mounted folloers with a hunt tend to be female but I follow on foot more often than not and i've always been accepted. I think on any site where the majority of users are men there will be woman bashing and vise versa. I take comments with a pinch of salt unless its something really derrogatory (sp?).
  11. I'll have a word with my dad and let you know. Thank you.
  12. Tyla, I have the land but not the experience so I might take you up on that offer if you don't mind a total novice tagging along. There aren't hundreds of rabbits on my dad's land but there are a few and an experienced dog would probably have much more fun than my boy plus the ferts would have fun too.
  13. They'd be better off woth the towbar the mood they put me in! Bloody tailgaters!
  14. I'm with Skycat on this one, I like to be able to keep an eye on my dogs when they are in the car for all sorts of reasons. I wouldn't feel comfortable transporting them in a trailer, especially with some of the arseholes on the roads. Apparently my car has a sign on it requesting that people try and kiss my towbar... And no, I don't drive slowly...
  15. You are a few miles up the road from me then.

My poor little innocent mind when I clicked on that introduction!
  18. And they say romance is dead...
  19. He doesn't do a lot. He's 10 but may aswell be a 3 year old for all he knows. He was a pet really and the woman who bought him wants me to bring him on but he's frustrating me. He's incredibly green and not too bright. He's a lovely horse but very lazy. I do hunt Foxyjo, not very often on horseback though and I doubt i'll get out on him to be honest. I do have a day with the Tiverton staghounds due on a friends horse though.
  20. Nice loking foal. The horse i'm riding at the moment is lovely but he's too quiet for me. I've had to buy some spurs which is something i've never had to use. He is a real gentle giant but I prefer a little bit more fizz.

    Antis

A regular occurance for us unfortunately. The hunt I go out with are actually trying to take an injunction out on the antis they get because things have gotten so bad. The court date was put back though last I heard.
