  1. ????? 0.25 gallon Max. Not all drink the same but the principle is the same, drink a lot of water at the start of the week and wean yourself off until by the final day you are drinking nothing.
  2. Dropping weight fast is all about manipulating your water and sodium levels. For a fighter who wants to cut weight quickly and safely, here’s how much water he would consume in the 5 days leading up to his weigh-in: Sunday – 2 gallons Monday – 1 gallon Tuesday – 1 gallon Wednesday – .5 gallons Thursday – .25 gallons Friday – No water till after weigh-in at 5PM. As you can see, the amount of water starts high with two gallons and decreases with each day till he’s drinking hardly any water on Thursday and Friday. This is to ensure their body gets into “flushing mode
  3. I'm for same day weigh-in but straight before the bout just wouldn't work.
  4. Slowly lowering their water intake until by the last day they are drinking nothing.
  5. Yes read above, they go through a process of hydration and dehydration. See above about risk taking.
  6. I do, by the final day they are basically drinking nothing after a process of hydration and weaning off. You say that a fighter won't dehydrate themselves to make weight, putting that much pressure on them knowing if they fail and the bout will be called off would risk the chance of doing just that.
  7. Of course I know what it entails, you would still have fighters struggling to make weight and having to dry themselves out to cut weight at the last moments before the weigh-in. To do so straight before a bout leaving them no time to hydrate themselves at all is opening a very dangerous can of worms. They introduced the 24 hour weigh-in's for the safety of the fighters. At least reverting back to same day weigh-in at least enables them to hydrate themselves somewhat but prevents them from being as big in the ring as they are with the current system.
  8. Certainly not as daft....
  9. He just needs to keep it simple, keep it long with the jab and right hand. Ruiz has very fast hands but his feet are in quicksand.
  10. AJ can win the fight of he boxes similar to he did against Parker, he needs to fully utilise his physical advantages. Do not go in there and try and blast him out or you will get unstuck again.
  11. They are earning wages like that in their own bed atm.
  12. Don't know about you but the prices are real, the more you earn the more you spend.
  13. Very good money at the minute for brickies, my younger brother takes home over a bag of sand for 4 n half days work, that's not including any weekend private jobs he takes on.
  14. That's what your breath smelled like after drinking original lucozade.
  15. Why the hell would you want to drink original lucozade you wierdo......
  16. I was never fond of it when I was a kid but nowadays I like a can with my fish & chips.
  17. Tastes same to me, must be your memory. ?
  18. That's the thing, if they feel they are going to fail to make weight then many will be pressurised in to cutting to make weight. I see no reason why we can't go back to same day weigh-in's, at least then we have fighters closer to their weight divisions and more importantly closer in weight to each other.
  19. Just think, today if Hagler was around he'd likely be fighting in the welterweight division. You watch old classic fights from the past and it's clear to see how much smaller they were in the ring when they had same day weigh-in's.
  20. It's not hard but the question is where would we draw the line. What happens if a fighter comes in only 1lb heavy? Yes I think it would be a great idea to have a weigh-in straight before they entered the ring providing strict hydration testing was done.
  21. Because I know realistically that just won't work, I doubt many fights throughout the history of the sport had both combatants the same weight, you have to have some leeway or else it would end up a shambles. Speaking of bulldogs, there is an art to conditioning yes but how many dogs failed to make weight and had to pay the forfeit.

Guess what, the majority will still vote Tory or Labour and will always do so.
  23. Fair point but you have to think of the fighters safety as well as the show. Let's not forget that the smaller fighter will have rehydrated himself and the check weigh-in at will at least prevent one fighter having a massive weight advantage come fight time. Making weight to the pound at an exact point in time is not easy as you know, look at the bulldog game as an example. How many dogs were matched bang on to their agreed weight? I'm all for making it more equal but fighters could and would try and make weight in a class they shouldn't and would put themselves at great risk.
  24. I've thought of a few ideas that may be realistic. If fighter fails to make weight then allow the fight to go ahead providing a few circumstances. A. The fighter is over weight by x amount, anymore and the bout is called off B. The fighter is deducted a substantial amount from his/her purse. C. A hydration clause is strictly adhered to, failing to do so results in the bout being called off, compulsory check weigh-in immediately before stepping in to the ring. D. If the fighter who fails to make weight is the champion he is stripped o
  25. You can fine the fighters and that may make them more diligent but that still doesn't solve the problem when it actually does happen.
