  5. I use a cover for mine similar to a mobile phone cover but they will also work inside a clear plastic bag if my hands start getting muddy I have an old biro on a lanyard around my neck and tap the buttons with that Hi Andy, I considered this idea for similar reasons a couple of years back, but when I asked a guy who had a far better model GPS than the one I intended getting, he claimed it was accurate to within a few yards. This didn't fill me with confidence. Are they better now, or are some areas better than others?. Hi Ianrob Mine will get me within 6 feet

  7. Good enough for him William of Orange, a hunchback Dutchman who fomented trouble for years after due to his persecution of the predominantly catholic Irish by throwing them off their land and giving it to protestant British mainland farmers. He also was behind the Clencoe massacre, which did little for his reputation in Scotland. The orange marches, a sort of "rubbing the Irish peoples noses in it" parade was a remnant of his rule, where banners proclaiming "remember the battle of the Boyne" a battle where a British army led by "good king Billy" massacred the Catholic Irish. 9. Hi Halfinch, I'm just concerned we might have a spy in our midst.
  10. Hi mate. The snare is just meant to hold the rabbits 'till you come along to dispatch them. They are usually still alive unless they get tangled in something. Check at first light and again before dark. If snaring in the summer for pest control, then three times a day is needed. thanks, it's just i have seen a video on youtube on called something like "snaring pedangun" and nearly all the rabbits were dead already and also one of the rabbits that was still alive screamed alot. .Does this usually happen? Thanks I don't know who you are. You have your info. It is your

  12. i started in the same way with 20 shop boughts, you catch a few bu you get so many knocks because of the small noose its really frustrating. if you can stick at it for a couple of days getting up nice and early to check them you will get addicted and buy some propper ones, but scrap the green twine and tie them as on pinned articles by glen waters to a tealer but try and keep the loop as big as possible.(and get some new ones soon if your hooked) i will get abuse for this i know but still 'se la vi' .... la vi... you shouldn't get abuse son, you've given good advice. ian
  13. Don't worry 'bout the moles Tray', anything to do with little creatures whizzing back and forth in tunnels, then Rolfe the machine is your man.
  14. Yes Please Calm down Rolfe, a threesome in a rat infested room sounds not bad, but one on your back and the other holding your hands, ! that needs working on
  15. That will be his bodygrip stand Ian - like these two. The legs stick into the ground Thanks Ian, perfect, I'll make something similar to set my new rabbit bodygrip. Yes just one, but I might have to buy more to circumvent the new snaring laws when they come in. It's all new to me. I must have led a sheltered life, ok I have led a sheltered life. Thanks for the info. cheers ian. Sorry John, I must be a tad blind. Thank you for the info.

  17. Well done mate, what's the gizmo in one of the last pics, the bodygrip spring is round it so it must be part of your set-up.
  18. a friend asked me if i could show him how to set fence snares we set some on friday and we went to check them on saturday morning the weather conditions whre not good for snaring it was minus 3 here are a few pics the fence line Good result anytime, but especially so given the frosty conditions. Well done.
  19. As Rolfe says check if they've been cut. Did it look like a knife job, or had they been chewed. If they're chewed then it's possibly just bad luck having two chewed through. Though I must say to lose two out of two is extremely odd.
  20. If its a humane trap it should be humane death IF the 'humane' trap is checked every 4 hours and IF it has caught (unlikely with the ones I have seen) what do you do with the mole? Release it where the conditions may be suitable as there are mole hills? This will be in another moles territory where they are highly likely to fight and injure or kill each other? Or do you release it where there are no mole hills and so probably not enough worms/food to support a mole? Both would technically be illegal under the Wildlife and Countryside Act which says you can not release an animal in t
  21. Nice Colin, two lovely foxes there, as snareman says the dog is a solid looking bugger. Well done lads.
  22. Possibly owls, though it'd be like a wildlife park in the loft, with rats' bats, squirrels, and owls.
