  1. have just noticed that my jills are swelling again so this could be the reason for the grouchiness?! gonna split em up when i breed them anyway, to reduce the risk of fighting and eating! will keep you all updated. p.s any one live around swadlincote with a ferret i could breed from? PM me if you do, thanks Corky
  2. got to admit, my ferts eat like queens! don't like handling myxi rabbits as it is, never mind butchering them and before i get loads of replies saying, "chuck em in whole", the reason i butcher them is because then they don't asociate the rabbit with food. i've never had tyo wait more that 10 minutes for my ferrets and i belive its because, yes they kill, but they don't know it's food. bit cleaner as well because it isn't dragged about the court. they just eat the chunks there and then!
  3. HW77K with nicon crown scope.
  4. 13.1?!?! it might be that its not bang on head but i am definately hitting them because you can hear that "wump" noise(hope you know what i meen) but its a definate hit. got some superdome's now so should do the business. will try agian. could be me not quite hitting in the head but maybe neck or torso i supose.
  5. I was out shooting the other night and saw a baby badger running down the headgeline. walked that way later on and there was two adults with 5 young. first time i've seen badgers that close and alive! is a shame to cull them but to be honest they are a pest in any numbers. they can be very viscious, attacking cattle and ruining copses. my friend has watched as one killed a lamb?!(he thought it was foxes so he sat out with the lamp, he was suprised to say the least). rimfire or digging is the most humane option in my opinion.
  6. Hi all, will probably spark up a huge debate that has no doubt already occured so short answer and explanation would be great. the thing is, i went shooting(dusk) the other day and shot 3 rabbits. all the pellets hit at around 25 yards, with round head pellets(bordering over the 12f/lb mark) and two just ran off. the other actually did a back flip, and landed on its back!!!!!! 2 seconds later, it got up????!!!?!?!? wghat the hell is going on. obviosly i am aiming for head shots, the fact they ran meens i missed head but i am sure would have hit neck?! as i say i was using round heads? is it t
  7. lol. thanks Kay. so you think just leave them be and let them get on with it? tganks kay Corky
  8. Hi all, my ferrets, or rather one of them is being really aggresive/dominent. they arent in season, their not pregnant and i treat them both equally(lol). i've been told by a friend it's just the other one being dominant cause their isn't a hob there. and that is what the hob would do, but to be honest it's constant dominance, no matter what???!!!. i have tried posting a video but it won't work . thanks all Corky
  9. Hi all, before you all jump at my throat, i am in the process of secondary reasearch, ie books. BUT, i would like as much information and advice on bredding my two jills. obviosly someone will have posted before so if there is a document you have with all the apropriate info, please pm me. all the best and to all happy hunting Corky p.s the two on the right are mine. the hob on the left was borrowed at the time.
  10. my fussy bugers don't like it?!

  12. Hi all this is my HW77K i recently bought for £30. we've already been through alot. it had a bent barrel to start with which my dad managed to fix(thanks blacksmith andy) with his press and now after only 3 weeks, it has 12 pigeons and 2 rabbits to its name. one of the pictures is how it was and the next is how it is now i've cleaned it up. notice the rust!
  13. I keep my HW77K in my room now and shoot down onto the bird table. i bagged 3 woodies last week, 2 in as many minutes yesterday and 1 just now. its a great little adrenelin rush and either me or the ferrets enjoy it! (great if you breast them, season, fry up some spring onions and mushrooms, then add in the breasts with a bit of jack daniels tenesee sauce! mmmmmmmmmmmm.............)
  14. lol, very good, ha ha. should be going to a gunsmiths sometime this week as i have told the seller and he is very sorry and is going to take it for me and sort it so will keep everybody updated, if you have a ny other idea's that may work before fri though, keep em coming. thanks again everyone. Kind regards Corky p.s iron man andy, did you heat the barrel first, and if so, to what colour? i have a shed (by shed i meen like super shed workshop thing) at my expense with all the appropriate tools.
  15. Hi all, when i say barrel, i meen my gun barrel for all you jokers out there! I recently bought a HW77K for £30 from a friend. now before that , well long story so, bloke sort of stole it, refused to give it back, police got involved, gun was given back. as you'd of thought the twat damaged it. didn't realise until i went to zero it after cleaning it up that the scope won't go any further left when you turn the clickers, its still 2.5 inch right of the target. now, i looked down the barrel only to find that it is not straight and rather than looking straight into the piston, i miss out 0.5mm
  16. my ferrets seem to hate water too
  17. second hand HW77K to HW97K i got a 77 for £30 recently(off the neighbour so was a friendly deal) it was in a shit condition but a bit of wire wool and sand paper, looks great now.
  18. thanks Kay, always rely onm you for quick and precise info! thanks again Corky
  19. hi all, am thinking of breeding my two jills next time they come into season. what is the minimum age you would breed them as these have only had on season so far and were last summers kits. is that to early?! thought i'd ask before i even look into bredding them. thanks all Corky
  20. i thought tortoises cudn't swim. what sort is it?!
  21. I have a water bottle and a drink thing that avery owners use for quails. you fill it, thgen tip it upside down with the lid on. works well as they're to heavy to tip and ferrets can't fill it with crap from the cage. http://www.kingstonfeedandfarm.com/Poultry%20feeder.jpg
