Used to use a red and amber filter, red lost to much light and amber was better, but it was always a hassle to carry them around and fit them when needed. Now I use an inline dimmer switch from Deben, seems to have the same effect as filters, just reduce the light a little on a shy fox, seems to become not so shy!!!

Hi, I applied for a F.A.C 4 years ago for a .22 rimfire and a 22-250 and got it no problem, no supervision but the licence was not open, I had to get the flo to visit all the land I had put down (11,000 acres of it!!) and he had to pass it suitable fo use. Since then, 4 friends of mine have applied for 22 centrefires and all have had to be supervised for 6 months, 3 of them I supervised myself. After 6 months I had to write a letter to the firearms dept explaining that in my opinion, Mr Bloggs was safe enough to use a firearm un-supervised.
