  1. CZ 452 .17 HMR falls nicely in your price bracket. My own ability allows me to use this rifle to safely dispatch a rabbit upto about 150 yards or so. There will be plenty out there that would argue that 200 yards is safe on rabbits and I have no doubt it is, however I am comfortable with about 150 or less. The odd fox would no doubt fall to the rifle to, again, I myself would not attempt a fox at more than 100 yards but there are plenty folk out there that claim 150 -200 yards kills. There are also plenty who would not consider using a rimfire to shoot a fox. If fox is your main quarr
  2. Thanks guys for your help, I find it strange that BSA would release a scope that wasnt capable of at least a reasonable level of clarity and sharpness at all its given magnifications. But I wont loose sleep over it. On the subject of cheap scopes, one I do have which works execptionally well is the simmons blazer 3-9 x 50. Its sharp and clear at all magnifications. The cross hairs are very fine, a personal preference and its very accurate so far on the HMR. I have used SB 8 x 56 scope on same rifle and whilst the build quality is in another league with the SnB , the grouping at 100 to 150 yard
  3. Hello all, I am after some assistance/Advice! I have accquired the above scope however no matter what adjustment I make to the focus and the front lens I cannot make the picture sharp in x12 magnifcation. The image at x12 seems very soft and out of focus. I have tried all number of adjustments and nothing helps. Does anybody have any experience or knowledge of this scope that they can share with me!, other than throwing it in the bin! (It does seem sharp and clear upto 6 or 7 x magnification.) Regards Hec
