  1. Oh right, where is that? Do they take entries on the day?
  2. Nice area there too, lots of rabbits. What bristol???? Theres hardly any about bristol way anymore!! That depends where you're looking
  3. Double compartment for two small jills. Straight back to start with. Im a chippy and I will never live it done if he has to buy one I rather over engineered on my first attempt!
  4. Hi all, I was asked to make a ferret box for a mate. Its been a long time since i used one and the first one i built for him was huge and weighed about half a ton! Our permission is spread out and we will be doing a lot of walking, so hes now insisting i carry the "ferret fortress"! He wants two seperate compartments so what i really want to know is what is the minimum space requirement for each? Cheers
  5. Do they run events all year round? In Hailsham isnt it?
  6. Really? My sis went to uni there but she came back! Nice area there too, lots of rabbits.
  7. Do you have any pics? I've worked gundogs and im in the process of training my lurcher pup but i've never had any experience with scent hounds. I've always fancied training a dog to follow scent but never done it. I dont think my lab following scent on a retreive counts as he taught himself that.
  8. Bassets, thats different. How do they work? Scent hunting?
  9. Theres more of us than i thought then! Whats it like at SLD? Where abouts in Kent, i have a chunk of permission in Rye which is right on the border. Nice dog by the way
  10. Im from Mid Sussex, near Haywards Heath. Just nice to see the odd person from the South on here!!! What dogs you working?
  11. IMO, whatever you are used to. I've used the same rifle for 8 years, Falcon FN19 .20. In that time I've bought, then sold again several others but when it came to the crunch they stayed in the cabinet and my old faithful came out! The only exception is for close range ferals when i want low power to avoid damage to buildings. Then i use a little Crosman Ratcatcher. Looks like your doing ok with what you've got! Good hunting!
  12. Just wondering if there is anyone on the site from Sussex?
  13. Hello mate, im new too. Good site i reckon!
  14. My pup is the same, great recall in the daytime but less so in the dark! Im going to walk her in the dark without putting her on anything for a bit and see if she get the idea without the distraction. Shes yet to take on her own but to build her confidence I slipped her on a bunny shot in the lamp with the airgun, wasnt the best shot and it was heading for the hedge, she took it at top speed with no hesitation - I was made up!!! She was no interested in retreiving but she didnt run off with it. I'll try her again when her night recall is sorted. Good luck and good hunting!
  15. Thanks Joe, im new to this forum thing, when i get the hang of it i will post some more. Got a wicked one of the missus all dolled up but with her rifle in one hand and a bunny in the other - puts me and my camo to shame!
  16. A Falcon FN19 .20 with 3-9 x 50 Simmons. Had it nearly ten years and wouldnt change it for anything! The FN12 is also .20 and belongs to my girlfriend.
