Stav and I were only talking about the samething on Saturday while out. Saying how having a FAC/SGC makes you think before doing something stupid and getting into a brawl with the local d!ckhead after a few to many. It certainly calmed me down (along with the Mrs I'd rather face a copper than her when I got home after being locked up?) I wouldn't jeopardise my certs for anything. My mate asked if he could put his name in my perm so he didn't have to pay the shooting club membership fees, I politely told him no and it doesn't work like that. The Mrs found out I was keeping the skull?, her reaction was, "OMG, where are you putting it?" Me," the heads going in the freezer till I get it done" Mrs,"im never going in the freezer again" ??? Mrs, "then what you doing with it?" Me, "it's getting hung on the garage wall above my prep bench" Mrs, "Thank god for that I thought you were hanging it in the house" ?

What a cracking evening mate, you've got a beautiful bit of land and only 15 or so minutes from the front door. It couldn't have worked out any better, you know the land like the back of your hand and it paid dividends. The Buck was an absolute corker for my first one and his head will be kept as a reminder of a brilliant rememberable evening. With the added bonus of pigeon shooting?? Try leaving them in the garage for a week?, forgot I put them in there ready for skinning and jointing. Needless to say it wasn't a pleasant sight or smell, good job the Mrs never went in?

Cracking finish to a days stalking, you weren't far from what you said last weekend about the 1 in 5 outings. Glad we finally had the chance for me to drop my first deer. Cheers mate for the guidance. Work needed on the gralloch, but not to bad for my first time I thought. Practice makes perfect. Considering we had to try and cover about 100m quickly over uneven ground to get the shot, heart racing and breathing heavy, I'm glad I could compose myself and get the cross hairs on her. We were on the fields at 0530 also, but unfortunately 1-0 to the roe?, only a small bit of ground but a few Roe show up (usually ?)signs are there with a few slots along the tree line. Back out this afternoon to try an early stalk to see if we can even the score.?? Nice shooting as always FH??

As long as they keep coming I'll keep butchering them?? I'll even have a go at a fallow if one presents itself while out. Once it's broke down into primals it's easiest to work on. ( get me sounding all professional with the terminology ?)

1st attempt at butchering a Roe and to be honest I don't think I did a bad job?, gutted some went to waste as I've no meat grinder yet, but apart from that got some really good meat. Cheers Stav??

You can't beat a walk about with the shotgun, I'm the same as you though miss more than I hit?? If I'm bored on Saturday or Sunday morning I just take my shotgun for a walk for an hour around my perm with 3 oak trees, if I had a dog I'd take that as well? man I miss having a dog?
