  3. Nice lads for sure moocher, only spoke to em a couple o times, bet they’d provide an entertaining evening in the pub, the dogs will have improved no end since he got with Dave Sleight and his connections in racing greyhounds, that said I still wouldn’t want one, atb
  4. Seen that clip of him in “ the gypsy and the poacher” no ferret and sticks a twig up an hole and says that’s rabbit fur so starts to dig and says it’s hard going after one shovel full, the dog has a look that says “what the f**k am I doing here”, tells me all I need to know.

  11. You’re right moocher71 it is wrong and cruel to drop rabbits, there’s no justifiable reason for it, it teaches a dog nothing, anybody dropping rabbits has no place in field sports and doesn’t deserve to keep a dog, if anybody needs to sharpen their dog up as you put it I’d say take the dog and do a bit of ratting with it, a few bites off them would sharpen it up, but imo if somebody need to sharpen a dog up that dog’s lacking the qualities needed to be a hunting dog, atb
  12. You read his post he does ask how to go about lamping
  13. That’s why we’re at the top of the food chain mC, I wouldn’t and I presume you wouldn’t put a dog in such unfavourable conditions to begin it’s hunting education, you make it easy as possible for the dog and that includes the ground it’s gonna run on, and btw young dogs can be keen but rarely are they daft imo.
  14. People go ferreting for a hobby, because they enjoy it, that’s sport to them and nothing wrong with it.
  15. Ferreting is sporting as well as a very effective method of pest control.
  16. It’s not only less sporting it’s baiting (illegal) you try telling anybody who goes ferreting that catching rabbits in nets isn’t sporting, you’re just talking out of your arsehole f***ing idiot.
