    I’ve been around working dogs since 1970 and I have always wanted to learn all about them, especially how a dog’s mind works, the science behind it all has always fascinated me and I have taken what I have read from books and put it into practice over the years to prove a point, one of the best books to buy is The Dog’s Mind by Bruce Fogle, he is a professor in dog psychology, it is well worth a read, I’ve made a lot of mistakes with dogs over the years but I’ve learnt not to repeat the same mistakes twice, I’ve also had a lot of successful hunting trips with good dogs and equally good company

    Dogs aren’t capable of feeling jealousy, it appears that way to the uneducated but it’s the dog claiming something like a human or toy or whatever

    That That’s how it should be DC, older bitch demands respect younger bitch shows respect, like you say it would be no contest if they fought, but dogs being social animals fighting goes against their nature plus that demonstrates that YOU are in control that’s how it should be, atb

    There’s should only be one top dog and that’s you pal, like Katchum said walk em together she’ll soon accept him, when they’re together push the bitch away and let the pup come closer to you she’ll soon catch on you’re in charge

    Must be difficult sourcing a pup these days, preferred things in my younger days, we always knew the guy and always saw the parents to the pups working, made choosing a tyke that much easier, it helped to sort the wheat from the chaff, good luck with your search, atb

    Would never run a pup at side of a bike till it’s physically matured, never a good idea to rush anything with a pup if you want a long working life for it, atb
