I’ve had the same problem on the sheep farm in the past and as I tell the farmer “ you can’t kill them all” this is no consolation when they are taking livestock especially when the livestock is essentially the kids pets, one saving grace is at least the cubs will still be hanging around the earth but it’s still never a nice job

Could be time to bring home the bacon Bernard sausage ?

http://www.wild-boar.co.uk/WILD-BOAR-POPULATION.html check out this site SD, they seem to be spreading quick, a lad I know said they have started to see them in South Wales, where he is, we get a few pigs up here but you only ever see them around the pubs on a weekend ?
-
There’s a good few around here at the minute, we normally get a good go at them once the crops come down for the first couple of weeks, I don’t think we’ll ever see it how it once was, it’s been a lot of years since I’ve been out and taken 30’s

By you live the life, I hope you paid for extra leg room ?, my missus has just book us a week in Cape Verde and I’m glad she’s paying because I almost fell over when she told me how much it was, don’t waste all your pennies on beer, shooting show next Sunday mate and you can soon burn through cash there on all manner of things you don’t need ?

Haha, I’ve always called them puff guns, but didn’t want to offend anyone on here, I’ve read loads of the write ups on here and these lads have some lovely looking rifles and they certainly know how to use them, to me it will just be a tool for a job, if they ever got this GL carry on sorted out ?

I’m terrible when it comes to parting with money ( it’s the northerner in me ) I’m off to the shooting show next Sunday so I’m going to have a fiddle with a few and make my mind up, it’s looking like a 99 but I do like the 97 stainless, I’m a bugger for a plastic rifle ?

The one I seen last night was the wrong side of a boundary for me to shoot and I would of been shooting towards a campsite, I probably would of shot it if it was on my land but to be honest I really don’t like shooting them until I know I can take the cubs as well, the problem with this place is it’s all forestry surrounded by fields so until the crop is down there’s only a few places you can shoot, once the have combined at the end of July it’s game on, it becomes the easiest place I know to call them

After receiving a call from the lovely old girl that owns the land where we have our pheasant shoot telling me about her rabbit problem and ringing around to see if anyone fancied a wonder out and been knocked back by everyone ( that includes you long one ?) I decided to go on my own, so I arrived around 7, after spending 30 minutes or so talking about this and that with my favourite old girl I went for a wonder, I had another reason to go up and that was to check out the fox situation I seen one about 60 yards from an earth I know to be active so as I don’t shoot them until June when I know t

Haha, Cheers for keeping an eye out for one, but that’s a bit out the way for me ?

I just bin it, a good few years ago I used to shoot on some land with a lad and the farmer used to let the metal detector lot on, so we used to leave them in the field, it drove them mad ?

Three new general licenses released
Stavross replied to philpot's topic in General Airgun Discussion
https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/use-of-general-licences-for-the-management-of-certain-wild-birds-a-call-for-evidence/detail-of-call-for-evidence have a read of this, the letter from NE just goes to show the complete ineptitude of tony juniper, I posted my reply in the rifle section so won’t go into it again, you can make your own minds up on another note, just playing devils advocate here, but when the license says to keep records of none lethal methods, now just say in the unlikely scenario you were arrested for shooting pigeons and taken to court and asked to pro -
DEFRA Consultation - General Licences
Stavross replied to Lamper121's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Wow ?, I have just read all of that, so tony juniper has come to the conclusion that this situation is way beyond his skill level and has passed the buck to Michael gove, who’s office will now be collecting information and evidence as to the best way to proceed with the GL, they will be doing this until the 13th of may and then taking another week to come to their conclusion, this is for a license that will be reviewed again at the end of the year, so where does this leave us with the new GL’s that have already been released, I would of thought that as they were not pasted by the secretary for -

The simple answer is they can’t, 99% of people won’t even understand what the GL is and the legality of it -
Three new general licenses released
Stavross replied to philpot's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I agree with most of what you have said but up here the jackdaws and rooks are a real problem around the farm, For me I would like to see all the corvids on a pest list along with pigeons, I wouldn’t have a problem with jays not been classed as a pest, we will just have to see if defra come up with any bright ideas -
