  1. Yep back then didn't have care in the world. I remember my diet wasn't the healthiest, I add an old deepfat fryer that someone was throwing out. I deep fried everything and I don't remember it ever getting cleaned in 2yrs lol. I was 16 and didn't drive or av a car or even afford one. It was very rural where I was, so I used to walk to the farm next door and he would give me milk in a old plastic jug enough for the day. I think he felt sorry for me, I fancied his daughter but never got anywhere, but I did get permission and milk. In winter I used get up having slept in long John's as that cold

She loved it my neace !
  3. Thanks dido, really enjoyed that. They don't make them like that anymore, last of an era ! On a different note, his caravan lol. Reminded me of when I was 16 and moved down south on my own for a few years flying bobs and I lived in an old ramshackle caravan just like guys. I think my cooker and grill pan was worst than his lol. I remember the toilet leaked and for 2 yrs there was a hole in the floor as big as a bucket were the chipboard floor ad rotted. It was all very character building , flying hawks , snaring, ferreting . I even had a 12bore and no ticket. I lived feral lol. Fek I r

  7. Buy a cheap frame , make a catch box and practice practice practice and them some more practice and even more practice. Watch some YouTube vids on anchor points ( how to hold and line up and take aim properly). It's hard at first and then the penny just drops and as dan Cain says it's addictive. When I shot my first quarry it was a woody and a real red letter day. Something natural about hunting with catty, I feel closer to nature then with a gun. Just my take on it, plus you get less myther mooching about or jumping the hedge.
  8. I started and learnt with Hegatty frames off flebay, bob on for dollar
  9. Didnt see it but a town close too me got the tornado they calling it. Ripped roofs off house's, chinmey stacks off , drystone walls and trees over on major roads. A complete freak of nature.
  10. Looks a bargain that ! I dont think the rules are too bad apart from the dogs, that would be tne killer for me. For 6 n half bags what a lovely little retreat to get away from it all. If i wasnt so tied to work and had more time id possibly be intrested in something like that as long as the mutts could go.

  19. I know I read some bad reviews on them. Mine spent most of there life up on moors in the heather , maybe I was just lucky. But honesty kicked the arse out of em and always decent boots. Coat wise I like paramo now .
  20. Had a pair of Harkila GTX boots , they must be well over 10 yrs old. Been belting boots , I've got a new pair of hanwags but I keep going back to my old faithfuls like a old comfy pair of slippers they are. Coat wise just buy it, your a long time dead. Live a little and enjoy the trappings in life. Dido you sound like a grafter so fek it treat yourself .
  21. Thanks will check it all out . Cheers
  22. I quite fancy doing a paramotor taster day. Looks good fun and right up my street. And looks an affordable hobby to get airborne. I may look into it. And Bear himself never been my cup of tea if am honest but kudos to him for going over Everest in one. I was actually watching a wild camping YouTuber a while back who said his former hobbie was paramotors and it sparked an interest that it could be affordable to us mere mortals.
