Haha, he wouldn't be unique in that regard. I've heard it a few times. They're also usually the lads that would want everything youd have in your yard but you'd get nothing off them. Leave them off.

I keep a few teckels and their grand dogs. But as you said they're pricey. Maybe something to consider is putting a teckel across a good terrier/beagle bushing bitch. The terrier/beagle would add a bit of something and it woukd give you a nice type.

Something like that would really suit, but I couldn't justify the cost of buying and running a big jeep.

Thanks to everyone for the replies and great advice. I'm thinking of a skoda scala. Smaller than the octavia, but seems to have good boot space. The Dacia Jogger is a 7 seater, where you can remove the back seats to give good space. Anyone with any experience of Dacias, are they any good or just buying trouble? Thanks again

If in doubt ask The Hunting Life. I'm thinking about changing my car and looking at something that will have 5 seats, suitable for a family car and good boot space for the dogs. I wouldn't have use for a big jeep or 4x4 and was thinking of an estate or maybe a 5 seater van type with windows like a Peugeot Tepee or Horizon. VW and Ford do a similar type of van/car as well. Are the suzuki Jimmy Amy good. I'm in Ireland so may not have the same choice as the UK. Any recommendations? Anyone ever bring a car in from Northern Ireland or the UK, does that give a few more

As said a nice teckel, you'd probably get one a bit leggier, which might give you what you want. Beagle or teagle would give you nice type. Petit Basset Griffon, if you could get your hands on one would give you a nice type as well

Hello, Just looking for advice on fitness and flexibility. Over 50 year old male, whose trying to stay fit, keep the weight down and improve my flexibility. I do a lot of walking a bit of running and a small bit of strength and conditioning. Nothing major but it keeps me ticking over. I find im getting a bit stiffer in the joints and back is giving me a bit of bothere I was thinking pilates might be good to improve my flexibility. Anyone doing pilates, how do you find it? Also any other recommendation om Fitness and flexibility. Thanks and looking f

A teckel from working breeding should do most of that. Have a look at West Sussex working teckels on Facebook. He looks to have decent enough stuff and digging lines. Im sure there are others who keep working teckels that might have pups available. Good luck with it, they're good fun.

I keep a few teckels and can only comment on mine. There a grand breed, i use mine for bushing and you'd have a right bit of craic with them I have one dog that would be hard enough. But the others are either not bothered about going to ground or will go in and sound away. You'd get handy foxes with them but you wouldn't be digging 6 foot to them. That suits me as I want them hunting. There might be lines that are better for digging? As others said if you are serious about digging than other breeds might be more suitable.

I have a pair of chaps with the ripstop material. There a great job for bushing, going through briars and bogs etc. I picked them up cheap in Decathlon a few years back. They don't seem to do them anymore. Anyone recommend a supplier of something similar. Thanks
