    I am using the X1 about 4 years. Good stuff, but forget the arrows on it. The data is accurate but in meters. And yes it is compatible with ortovox and b&f collar. Shouldn't be too expensive a used one, it works with 2 standard batteries (AA) which are easy and cheap. Hope that helps

    Rushill Dog Don't missunderstand me. I have seen this dog working, it was and I like the type. But there is Bull bloud in it - and as I saw him working, it looks like a feature not a bug

    A friend in Germany is using JRT kennel Rushill (I think breeder of kennel Rushill is Martyn Hume, but I am sure you know that better than me). He owns a dog that has Bull blood in it for sure and this dog is used for Badger and works well. He works fox extremly hard but learned that a badger is something different and has to be worked differently. If a 100% Bull terrier is able to work a badger is something I do not know, I have never seen one.

    We use only terrier that are not that sharp. A to agressive one will be lost within one season. Any terrier that is able to learn to move the badger without blind attack is a good one for hunting. In the evening after there is always someone that knows someone who had a terrier that was able to kill a badger. I have never seen a dog killing a badger but I have seen a lot of Jagdterrier that tried to - the winner has always been the badger. btw: badger hunting is legal in Austria

    I am not from UK but I would like to give you an idea how it was in the past on continental europe. We are not allowed to dock our dogs for several years in Austria, it is not about showing, it is simply forbidden. In the beginning many hunters complained about it and yes it was looking strange in the beginning. When we were on Crufts this year the majority was docked and our dogs are looking different to them, probably a docked one is looking more balanced. Anyway, at the end of the day we work our terrier heavily and I have never been in a situation were the tail was a problem. So from my

    Season is still not over for us. We have to protect birds and hare. Today a typicall working day for our russell terrier a) we found a dead hare in a suspicious area take our shotguns and let the terrier work => fox bolted c) as dog and bitch were at home, this is the result Was a nice morning today with a fine result.

    In Austria we hunt a lot of wild boars and we use dogs in professioal organized packs for these hunts. What I can guarantee you is that if you have wild boars in UK in the nature it takes not more than 5 years and you will have a lot. They will replace other wild animals and you will have no chance if you are not able to stop the explosion in the beginning. I can give you a lot of these examples not that long ago in several countries in continental europe.     For those interested in, this is what we will see at Crufts for Parson Russell Terrier: 54 dogs, 68 bitches = 122 total Do you have any hints and tips for us around Birmingham? Shop for hunting equipment or at least a good pub? Still we would love to hear from anyone in that area about a ratting opportunity or any kennel to visit. @donnyc: if we are really allowed to visit your kennel pls send me a pm, would be highly interested to see your dogs!

    Hi, Some of you might find our idea very very strange but we will visit Crufts in March. We own Russell Terrier and we will show our working champ Obi there Unfortunately he is not in KC show conditon as we had some normal conflicts with badger (legal in Austria) and fox this year so we will see how they will judge a working terrier As we reduce a show to something where we meet others and learn something new this won't be a problem for us no mather how they judge. My posting is about: Is any working terrier owner there just to meet? Or is there anyone with a working russel

    ok , nice to know that with the statistic and what they are for ( blue stripes ) ! ... but that mean´s that you can count to every fox a den ! are they all digged or also flushed out of the cover ? ... and if also flushed will the notice just the closed den to the fox ? and if not flushed and all digged , are them all from one day then ? It is not that important from which den the fox was bolted or digged it is more important

    Hi, I didn't log on to that forum for quite a long time. Too much time spent with hunting These stripes are not used for transport it is for the vet med. These large "go to ground hunts" cooperate with vet university and they test for rabies and other things. On the stripe the exact den is marked where the fox was from. So just for statistical use. We had a fine January and I am happy that you like our pics. I think we won't work a lot in Feb with Obi. We will start at Crufts with him and he doesn't look like other show dogs yet I hope I don't have to explain his head even badger hun
