you can do this mate, the triangle icon for the dog turns to a dot and the hand held vibrates to tell you the dog has stopped. If you want to save the location you click on to way points and it gives you the option to save your location or the dogs, click the dogs and it saves as dog1. You can then follow the compass to that location, it also comes in handy to save your vehicle as a way point before you set off if there's a possibility it could get foggy, it's pulled me out the shit a few times!

Buster i Tried it on one of the terriers today it was a bit slack on the last hole but you could probably get away with putting another hole in or maybe tape a thin collar under the gps collar or something, I'm sure it wouldn't be to difficult to adapt it. Atb lee

It is a little bit loose on the smallest beagle but she is small, I'll try it on one of the terriers and let you know mate.

Had chance to try the sport dog tec 1 over the last few days and so far I'm impressed, it seems to do the job just as well as the garmins, build quality feels good, it's never lost connection with the dogs so far and when you get used to the tracking screen it works quite well. It's a lot more basic than the garmin system but that's what I like about it there is no need to update or download any thing which is good for me as I'm useless with anything like that. I haven't had any long hunts to test it properly yet but I should over the next few days.

I tried all sorts with the terrier I mentioned high protein diets, raw meat diets, more exercise, longer rest periods, in the end I ended up getting a new pup in. Good luck mate atb lee

I was going to say my honest opinion is get him an apprentice and semi retire him. I remember him in Spain he's just like one of my terriers the mad over the top working type, I wouldn't think he would just stop hunting for no reason he must be troubled in some way by the injury. Sometimes getting a new dog in to help out is the only way mate.

What's he like when he see's or he's close to his game? Is he still keen or has he lost interest altogether? is it like it's an effort to go and hunt/find game but when he see's it he forgets about the pain for while and then goes back to not being he's self when there's nothing around? If he's just lost interest altogether it's very strange especially with him being a seasoned dog it's not like he needs bringing on. To be honest iv never know this happen, maybe like you say an adrenaline issue?

A similar thing happened to one of my terriers a bad back injury when he was 6 year old and physically he's never been the same the muscle never came back like it was but mentally he is still the same dog and never lost his prey drive. In my experience the only thing to put a mad keen terrier off is when it's in some sort of pain and usually it has to be quite bad. That's what is making me think it must be the old injury.
-
Maybe the injury is causing him more pain than he's letting on?
-
Think he just has beagles I'll ask him anyway mate, you probably know him he lives in or very near to Merthyr

I got a beagle pup from a lad that keeps a pack near you mate, they are a nice type aswell. I can ask him if he has any planned litters if you want?
