  1. Don’t seem to see many 1st cross bedlington greyhounds these days....... I remember Gary Hoskers spud.....not sure if it was pure bed x grey and was fence hoppers a 1st cross......looked like a big bedlington.
  2. Greyman.......thanks for the pics. That a great idea with the tubing, I’ll give it ago. c.green...... I’ve done a little more looking into the constrictor knot and the video I watched said to stretch the band before tying the knot. I’ve now watched the simpleshot video and he says only to stretch the band maybe an eighth of an inch which I suspose makes more sense. Im still learning, but it’s all good fun and thank goodness I haven’t hit my hand for a bit now because the last one has only just healed and it still a bit tender.
  3. Seen a few weird and funny things when out over the years....both day and night. I was recently just having a walk with the dogs and something caught my eye as I approached my car. Just to the side of the path is a wooded area, one of the trees had a big strip of bark missing, well that’s what I thought, curiosity got the better of me and walked a few yards back to check as something didn’t seem right. The tree in question was just two/three trees back in the wood. Anyway it wasn’t stripped bark, it was a rotting deer hung up....In full view....why oh why.
  4. Tried tying on bands to pouch using a constrictor knot with marlow no4 whipping twine. I’ve watched how it’s done on the net, but I just don’t seem to be doing it right......in that after a few shots I believe it’s nipping and under stress it’s snapping the band. I reckon the reason maybe I’m tightening it up a bit too tight. In the vids you keep the knot slightly loose then stretch the bands a bit more then slide the knot back to the pouch, tighten a bit more and repeat a couple of times. I’m sure I’m just maybe nipping it a bit too tight. What you reckon and how do you tie yours
  5. Thanks for that......it’s a cracking looking catapult......is it a custom build?
  6. Just bought one of these band templates with fence......25-20mm. Made my life much easier. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F303113135599
  7. If you get chance can you post pic of it? cheers
  8. I thought my eyes were playing a tricks on me. Be able to get a Chinese replica of it next week for a fiver.
  9. I’ve just decided to treat myself. I’ve fancied one of these for quite some time now, but parting with cash isn’t something I find easy.......it’s the Target sniper ott/ttf. I’ve opted for the small version, although I do have quite large hands.....just think it will suit me better. I was torn between the scorpion the target sniper. If I’m right I think I read in a post of yours it’s a bit of a pain to band up for ttf.......that should be fun! shortstraw
  10. Just browsing eBay when I stumbled across this........ https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F264426593448
  11. Cheers Greyman. Some accurate shooting there! I seem to be holding it same as you in the pic, but I’m obviously doing something wrong. Maybe I was kicking it forward like you mentioned. Definely need to practice some more as I like the small frame. Ah the Scout.......this is my usual catapult. Got my first from America, then my second from China at a fraction of the cost. I certainly seem to have more success with this catapult, although I had more hit my hand when I tried through the folks, over the top I rarely hit my self with the scout. I going to practice some more with the sco
  12. Took it out yesterday.......I haven’t shot for months due to my muscles. Anyway my 1st shot with 9mm steel.....and the supplied bands....gangsta.....choke grip....not sure if they’re the right names.....bash straight into my hand. Did everything I normally do ( unless I was missing something) and every shot whacked the folks in the same place. I ended up giving up only to realise I have crack/fractured the the bit that holds the bands tight. Could it be the band steel weight set up? Is choke grip the wrong way to hold it? I rarely get folk hits when banded up over the top, although t
  13. Just attached the optics and light!.........might just use it without the light though......we’ll see. All for £5.99.......it makes a mockery of other catapult prices......it doesn’t feel cheap!
  14. Greyman........glad you posted this......I decided to splash out, although mine was from jersey apparently. Havent fitted all the sight things yet.........need to figure what goes where,,,,,and what does what! Seems a nice little thing, not shot it yet though.
  15. Sorry to hear about your cousins grandad. My Nan just died from it as well.....it’s an awful thing to watch. Do you know if they used cbd oil or actual full spectrum oil which uses all the different canabinoids from the plant. It’s not easy to get hold of good RSO with it been illegal in this country. Why do you think it’s a conspiracy? it could welll be......but it certainly seems to help some. I suppose as time goes by more light will be shed on it, doseage, strains to be used etc. I certainly agree it’s not a miracle cure, but to some it seems to help a lot especially people with sei
  16. I love dogs like yours, they have to really graft for a catch, but when they get one it’s priceless. I do a lot of woodland edges around the fields and too much height seems to hinder them through the wood. How tall is yours?
  17. Didn’t “ fence hopper” on here used to have a straight beddy x greyhound, I think he then bought a whippet. Was quite a robust thing, like a big beddy. Was quite some time ago though.
  18. Does Whin still come on here?
  19. If I wanted a bitch I’d wait for a bitch.........but it depends how often the type comes up for sale..... What cross?
  20. I watched a documentary about a few ladies on the internet who where using (RSO...Rick Simpson’s Oil).... to rid themselves of breast cancer. You know what it worked for them, the results were, in their cases, nothing short of remarkable. For those who don’t know RSO is full spectrum cannabis oil.....( Indica not Sativa). I believe it has shown to cause apoptosis in cancer cells leaving normal cells untouched....( the experiments were not on human cells though). The ladies had to obtain their own oil as not legal here yet. The oil is dead is to make if you have access to the ingredie
  21. Try a gundog lurcher.....mine loves feather.....although she’s only done day.
  22. Mooching is all I do. If you have plenty of game around you then I’d probably go lurcher to lurcher around the size you want.....bit of collie bit of bedlington. However from personal experience if there isn’t a great deal of game around you where you mooch I have found that the drive to hunt can vary even within the breed type. For example I’ve had pure collies that work equally as good, but put them in an area where there’s not much game and one will pick up a stick and play, where the other would look for a scent regardless. I’ve found this very common in collie types if there’s isnt m
