  1. Used to do the same, go religiously. Enjoy the atmosphere, everything about the scene , the place and characters and dogs. Good to buy a few simple things. Havnt been for a few years and more now because of some individuals around the place and other reasons of the atmosphere
  2. That's the job. Looks good type. Enjoy ?
  3. Smart dog Davo, good to see that you your looking forward and trying to keep up at things ?. Hope goes well for Yas
  4. The bitch , bonnie, which man had off As ( mother to the dogs we had ). Was a tall thick coated bitch. Didn't look bully , but big very capable worker .my own dog , out of it was a powerhouse, very bully. Everybit of it a good worker.
  5. The 3 male dogs off rocky in that litter were all big ;around 14 half inch and hard dogs , and good finders and would do long time to ground . The As bitch which the man who owned and worked it , was very hard dog and would work alot of hard old places . I was walking one day to a dog show with df and we stopped at a old hunt kennels on the road which we'll known for old beagle pack .By chance a man was visiting as we sat on the bench, it was Alan. He liked one young dog i had , and told me who he was. He said that the had come lot bigger in size but liked the way the was . The other dog i go
  6. Glad to hear you know personally of them two dogs . I only told the names off couple of dogmen years back .one being the men who bred my first black dog , which was out of rocky and the mother was As bred bitch .The other dog i had was called nipper off nuttall himself, and he told me the sire was Micky .he was a good dog too , lot smaller than my first big dog, Bruno.
  7. Some names crop up who are genuine people or dogs. I remember a man who getting matings off miner to a red big bitch the lad owned which had patterdale in it .pups were seen and some gone elsewhere. The same lad though could of used other dogs for stud .he did work his dogs the lad but I think he also in it for the money too
  8. I don't think I know anyone. But in my opinion , old nuttall stuff what is that is stuff before miner
  9. Maybe but it would be alot more right on people who owned and worked his dogs . I know the same man , Brian , would say for instance. A man writing a book on beldlingtons who had them less than ten years and when asked what worked was not foxes .same with his belief about people with black dogs for short time and experts .things he wouldn't agree on as for being around a long time and such .
  10. No he got permission off him .As Brian said to me , A author as him can go to someones house for 2 days and write a book on someone and then to another. That's just what he said and when I commented on book coming out , Brian said to me to ask the man to send him a copy
  11. As said above it was interesting on the old pedigrees and breeding wrote out and how dogs originated and where from. The stuff on breay buck was too and more of it to be read . But on the other side of it the was a heap of other stuff and not with the amount of work that could been said about full time dogs and people but just a few . It also goes way off course of which Brian was involved with some people but the is some of which that know off who had his dogs . Some bits of good advice but could been more said . At same time though I know Brian knew nothing much about the book when I rang a
  12. Good insight on lot of stuff and people but on the other hand should been more talk on where dogs and people with better story's and not small talk. Alot of it talks on people like Middleton etc
  13. Just goes to show really. Never believe what you see or told until you see it for yourself
  14. Yes missed your point. I thought you said it take couple of terriermen to make a dog or dogs famous, when on the other hand it doesn't have to be a so called terrier man. The so many different aspects out there , whyd anyone really want be concerned anymore unless for genuine reason.
  15. But the don't have to be terriermen .And whatever you call a terrierman. I know proper digging men and dogs but they don't say that there terriermen. And the don't sell dogs or show ring them .
  16. Thanks stop end end. Appreciate that
  17. Say more bull than the hound as I was told that came out in it . Done well in the field and caught honestly when mattered
  18. Good clean honest dog . But no plans to breed of it . But that's just me .I love them .
  19. Times have changed in lot of ways for people who genuine working there dogs . One young man i know only bothers with 3 lads because he won't get involved with no one who ask him out and with respect to him , how right he is and he just does things the right way and no bullshit. Another man i know genuine, only bother with about 5 people, again they just keep themselves to themselves, and care about there dogs and hunting. Quite a minority really but that's how it goes
  20. Young guns wanting it all. The be too young even for this season but the get the work
  21. True .and in some places you may dig a rabbit successfully. Probably by accident even . And if it was one hole dug. But what's the, odds of that by the hundreds of the holes you came on. And you will get a freak one who bolt but that's just the type of holes or ground it's in . Digging holes everywhere to rabbits with a terrier is very changeable and dangerous enough for a terrier being stuck .
