I don't think I would describe the woofing mass of fox hounds as 'humble'.

A like the mk3 more. A bonus that not many consider is the fact ferrets are more willing to come to the sound of the mk3, than the thud of the mk1. (at least in my experiance)

I'm sorry, I don't know if daddy has being paying your way for your entire life, or you really don't have your eyes open, but there is an employement issues, even more so with younger people. And from your comments, I'm guessing you havn't been on the dole in recent years, honestling, I've just come off, after some 300 applications and 30 or so interviews, and you know what, I wasn't the only single hard working person down on my luck in that sodding place. Went ferreting the other day, alot seemed either very reluctant to bolt, or went straight away. Another thing I saw alot of, was rabbits 'sitting' at the entrance of a hole, I wouldn't notice till a ferret bit it on the arse and it would start screaming. I'd then be able to pick the rabbit up within 1ft of the holes entrance. - Got 4 rabbits this way. (this was in the snow)

Look, you might get free stuff from your mum asking nicely, but I don't think you'll find it here. I really don't know where to start, the obvious answer is to find a tutor, someone to take you out and teach the ropes, I'm sorry to say that a lad of 14 will have many passing interests and till some dedication is shown, there is a good chance it'll get left in your wardrobe (along with your skateboard and guitar). I work them, but today we took them out for a play. (or at least the girl friend did). The funny thing was they'd make runs in the snow, then re-use these runs to get around faster. Enjoy.

It's taken a while, but I've now got one of my poles and one of my albinos doing a pretty neat trick. It all started when I realeased that if you stuck a locater (mk 3 with the high pitched bleep, not that thud like the mk1) near a rabbit hole, curiosity would normaly attract the ferret towards that opening. Combine this with a bit of ferretone each time you use the locater, and you've got yourself a winner. As said, I've now got two ferrets who will very happily run straight towards the sound of the locater, once you shove it down a hole (even if there full, which is the wonder

I had a ferret that went mega skinny after trying to keep all 12 kits. I ended up feeding her normal soft food, but with chunk of butter included, I also added any trimmings from meat (like the fat from pork, etc) into her food, which quickly added weight. I wouldn't recommend the butter inless it was an emerancy, as it became with that jill.

As above, at point blank range a .22 12ft/lb will happily kill a fox. Don't believe me? next fox you shooting, take it's carcass and shoot it in the head - it goes in fine.
