  5. Well if the gaspipe did go, you wouldn't have an issue with rabbits anymore! Funny old world.
  6. Don't assume anything. I've worked Jills for Years, first year with hobs. Cheers anyhow.
  7. My 3 hobs have been on heat for months now, with Balls the size of marbles and have been making a hell of a racket every night. When do they come off heat?. Also, two of my hobs have developed a really annoying habbit of running off, it's really strange. They where fine at the beguining of the season, but they'll come out of a hole, Hunch there back up and run off in a random direction as fast as they can!, can this be stopped as it's making them unworkable.
  8. I will ferret bits and bobs over summer, but like it was said, I'm not battling through 6ft of stinging nettles and brables for it. If I find a lovley clear field with warrens all over it, then it's a good'un.
  9. No, there are really no other ferret locators. What's the issue that you are having?. I have never had any problems just digging with the mk3, but there is a bit of skill to it, and to be honest I've become a bit of a dab hand. You need practice and common sence, but you can always work out where a ferret is with just a mk3 (I do it by sound alone). If you ever come down my way, I'll take you out and show you the secrets behind using it.
  10. Odds and **** cartridges. I have: 12x Hull Soloway Magnum 50gm BB (75mm) 14x HULL Ultramax 36g 70mm no.1s (12b) 15x Eley Grand Prix HV Bismuth forest no.4's (67mm or so -12b). 30x Eley Magnum Extra Long .410 subsonics. (I've got some more hanging about somewhere, I'll chuck im in for free if I find em) 25x Eley .410 Forten (2'' Cartridge) I'd like to sell them as a Job lot for £25, Or I'd swap them for 100x 3'' .410 magnums. - Heck, I'll even Deliever if you cover the cost of Petrol. Cheers Andrew.
  11. I've also seen a rabbit bolt into a badger hole. I once had a ferret down, and was taking ages (40 mintues) and I thought he was playing up. Locating him as running about with the finder, I positioned myself between a 1ft wide pit that had two rabbit holes within. Waiting for the ferret to appeer, I thought I heard something funny so I stuck my head down the hole and 'Whaaammmm' a full sized buck rabbit smashed into my skull. Needless to say he got away, as my screems coupled with a dazed but running rabbit resulet in no shots, but a roar of laughter.
  12. Did you buy your ferrets of huntinglass, or is that there name? If you bought your ferrets of Huntinlass from norfolk, I was the one who bred them, and then gave them to her once they where too big to keep the remainder (She's got a nice big farm). I'm amazed to see them if that's so!. Great to see them work so well (But they've got a brilliant working strain on them) Andrew.
  13. Tell the lad that if he wants to do some ferreting closer to home (I love near snetterton, about 10 miles from Thetford) to give us a PM.
  14. Yeah, I don't understand why you didn't report it either. You never know, it could of been burried by someone before you 'because no-one will ever find it'. It's still a danger and should of been reported. You'd of gotton your photo in the local rag anyhow.
  15. I've ferreted the Garden of Mr Jarrolds (The bloke who started the department store). I've also had a brief chat with Arlond Swatzsnigger (How ever it's spelt) while he was visiting the Lab my father works at in california.
  16. You'll want to go for the 15ft everytime. This is not because you'll ever have to (or want to, at any rate) dig to 15ft. But, 15ft is the area you'll get a responce to the location of a ferret within. Meaning that a ferret can be anywhere within 15ft of you to pick up the signal. The 8ft, is obviouly half of that, meaning you'll have to twice the amount of walking to pick the signal up!. When you've got a large warren, you'll be thankful of that.
  17. I've been finding alot of pairs bolting together this time of year aswell. Seeing as I mostly shoot them,it's been great sport.
  18. Stupidist thing. Cleaned them out and left the door open, a few hours later I found 2 in the garden as the dogs went barmy. The 3rd of my 4 ferrets was picked up by someone later that night about 100 yards from the house. Number 4 has now been missing for two days.
  19. I've lost a ferret, so I thought I'd post the details here, because forums like this never stop surpising me. Ferret lost. 1 Year old Pole-cat Hob. Safe to handle, does not bite. Lost in Kenninghall, Norfolk. Any infomation, please, please PM me. Cheers Andrew
  20. Well, it's like a £110million on the euro this weekend, so wait till you see my topic this monday!
  21. What's the black stuff on two of the rabbtis?
  22. I've somehow managed to loose the nylon strap of a MK3 (not the shitty leather things on a mk3m) and I was wondering if anyone knew where to get a replacement? I know I can get one of deben, but they are asking for £12.00 (They are charging £6 for shipping, what on earth?) and does anyone know another source of these collars?. For that matter of fact, does anyone know where I can get them in another colour? - It'll be handy to tell one ferret from another.
  23. The only real use for a probe when using a lcater, is once dug to a ferret, to feel about to see if you can find the rabbit that he has layed up upon, or if the orginal rabbit is removed - if any more are down there.
  24. Miguel Larranagr 12b S/S. 26 Inch Barrels 14 Inch Trigger Pull. Double Trigger non-ejector. - No Pitting. This gun has an action as tight as a ducks bottom. It's a perfect little rough gun, and with it's short barrels, the stock can be knocked down to make a good gun for a youngster. I'm selling on behalf of my friend who is joined the navy (but the gun is signed onto my ticket). He wants £150, But he's very liable to accepting a 'more reasonable' price (send me an offer) Located in South Norfolk.
  25. Making the move to FAC, my Hornet set-up is up for sale. This includes:- 1x BSA Hornet Multishot. , adds autoload capability in the form of BSA’s 10-shot pellet magazine. This works superbly with the Ultra’s unique, MMC cocking system and spring-loaded pellet probe and allows the shooter to fire shot after shot without taking the rifle off aim. 1x .22 Silencer (No brand name, got it as part of a bulk buy, never used it but has good sound reduction) 1x BSA Hornet magizine. (10 shot). 1x Set of High-mounts (£15's worth from uttings). 1x Brand spanking new Hawke 4x
