  4. Cheers mate ...yea he is litter sod eats me out house and home, was looking for a Jr rod for him for while ended up just getting him same rod as me and he's loving it at min , except for when he gets a pike on bank won't go near it lol
  5. Nice one @Daniel cain braved the weather yesterday with my lad managed bag a decent pike , not massive but put up a decent fight
  6. Why have a hawk with a problem when training your own hawk having it flying the way you want is so much better/ easier.. Like the saying goes .. A good hawk eats just as much as a cnut ....or a good hawk eats just as much as a bad hawk ...not sure Wich one it is now
  7. I'd say other two hens
  8. These are a good bait they flot kn the top they have a slight spade/bill on the front so when u cast out slowly tighten your line and quick jerk left or right sends the lure about 6/8 inch under the water but the water shoots over its head causing a stream and a popping noise under water , ...definitely worth having in the tub mate
  9. They look perfect tho for drop offs , if you could cast your line along the edge the drop off and reel in fast 2 or 3 short spins to set the depth and then a real slow steady you'd catch some stuff with them little ones
  10. Plugs ... or poppers (that's what therr called ) stay on the top I use alot of them in heavy lily pad area the ones you have there the bigger the clear spade on the front ( looks like a duck beak ) the further down they will swim , if you want poppers the have a round scooped face like the lure has its mouth open and no clear spade , I learnt the hard ways when I baught a beautifull looking lure cast it reeled it and snagged it after 30 mins I got it back looked at pack and it said deep dice to 3 meters lol

Each to there own but me personally if an oasis song comes on the radio while in the car I'd wind the window down and listen to the sound of my wheel bareing than listen to that shit

  13. Anyone recommend a budget rod and reel for pike fishing on the canal for my lad , he's only 8 so thinking one them small 5ft rods that see on YouTube for jack pikes , we went the other day caught a couple ( by insane luck ) on a big old Carp rod with a tiny lure , don't want spend a fortune as it mite be a fad with him and die out after acouole month, if he stick to it I'll get him something decent , cheers
  14. Ive seen loads big pussies in the uk , just never filmed them
  15. Anyone make kydex sheaths , i have a khukri that has sentimental value to me that i want a sheath making for but have no idea where to start or where to send it to , is there anyone on facebook sites who does them ? (me and other half are not on facebook)
  16. Them presa are OK till they get to a certain age...then by all acounts they turn in to dominant liabilities even to there owners ....not for me like Looks a nice dog tho atb with it
  17. So mine is 16 mesh deep and 72 mesh long so works out 8ft deep and 18 ft long with a 6 inch full mesh , but people make them 18ft 16ft 12ft long , think depth of the net is key , I'm going to make a 6 ft long one for brakes in dry stone walls ( no point taking 18 ft long net when a 6ft one will do )
  18. Think my ocd kicked in with this netting lark ....I even turned down a trip to the pub to stay in nitting a net
  19. I was going make a gate net for rabbits but to behonest the rabbit population down here is on its arse and I don't realy like taking them now unless it's from old places that are due to be developed on,,there a couple place near me where they built some new industrial estates on which were coverd in rabbits all the time but now u see the odd 1 or two ....times ...they are changing
  20. They close up the same as a big poke net does with a rabbit in it , the more they bounce around and try to push forward the more the net closes up, The key is a good depth on the net and the right mesh size , I've used 3" mesh board so will give a 6 inch full mesh so as the hare comes through his feet are on the net befor his nose touches the net so once they hit it they will push the head through 1 of the meshes and try to push through picking up the depth of the net with there feet tangling them self's more ,there also easier to get out of these nets that the square mesh types, H
  21. So the gates nets mainly used now are like giant poke nets as apposed to the old sqare meshed nets that were just draped over the bottom rail of the gate , the older type net would be draped over the hare comes through gets tangled rolls over and ends up 10 foot away from the gate , these types used now ate like a big poke net set about a foot back from the gate on two Hazlehead pegs , the hare hits the net and purse up , I dont think many people use the square mesh type anymore realy
  22. Well finaly managed to stich on a decent ring .tried it acouple ways but couldn't get it where I liked it, so had bit of help of netrigger ( again lol) 3rd gate nets I've made switched from the the bigger heavy rings on to inch and half rings wich I'm preferring now , Finaly made a net I'm 100% happy with . Thanks again @netrigger
  23. I know what you mean , I have a few farms with health population of hares on that I used to fly with my hawks but havnt flown for two seasons so going have a go with the nets try put acouple in the pot , good thing is with nets is can hang them up and leave them season after season and get them out as and when
