  1. I think people need to have respect for people before we talk about animals, if you don't kill an animal as quickly and humanely as poss, you've got issues ,how can any sane person want to prolong death of an animal? people don't give a shit about people that's the problem. That's why WE cannot hunt in this barmy country of Hippocrates . Sorry :-)
  2. My god nick Stevens must have bred millions, everyone's got one :-)
  3. Sure you've got the right dogs for yourself mate ? I think you just want a pitbull ? We only put bull in to give a bit of bone when they become weedy through inbreeding. You've got a type specifically bred for the job yet you want to better it ??with bull? Weird.
  4. What are the countryside alliance doing about this relentless propaganda, a hare . Who gives a shit . People are what count . We need some organisation with a backbone to at least have a fight on our behalf. IS THERE ONE OUT-THERE. Money available as there are millions of us. ANYONE
  5. We bought a young black dog years back from a Pete Jackson, who was a bit of a dealer, my buddies weren't that arsed how he was bred , but I like to know where there from ? But all of my questions went unanswered and nobody excepted responsibility for breeding the animal ! Until he became outstanding , then everyone bred him. If you know it's parents that's all the breeding you can trust, so many made up stories. The old names parks, Gould ,nuttal etc are long gone years ago, I'm sick of hearing there names. My line are the best anyway £10000 a pup ,shitforengland line .
  6. We're ALL after permission, please. Advertising on here is offensive. Start at the beginning , follow hounds and kiss arse in a huge way, if you've a trade, you could offer this, when your banging away week after week at landowners property, it's hard but there are rewards.
  7. Sorry to here you lost your dog. It happened a good few years back to myself . If your not well connected with working dog lads and can't wait for pups, advertise as your doing for one .in everything, and ask for a look at them for a month or so, I ended up with a little dog which gave me a few great seasons, a lot of lads are packing up which always works to someone's advantage, hope your successful , chin up.
  8. Don't let the size bother you, if its in the dog and he's trying his best, it will work out. We had a monster of a terrier, which made a dog called big Ron look like a miniature, he was big in size and importance, becoming one of the best, you will have enough to worry about, you may have to move a bit more soil! But that's what we're there for. Cheers and good look
  9. Looks very organised, it could happen here , only our politicians think more of wild animals than people's rights, we are a minority with no right to participate in our way of life, this government and a lot of people on this island are hypocrites, guns ,gases, poisons and traps are replacing traditional dog work, always be vigilant, as we would not want you to lose your right to work your animals. As we have. The badgers numbers here are booming , it should be ok the hunt them , with similar rules to yourself.
  10. i sell all kinds of meds and frontline etc will only work if area kennel is kept totally free from fleas etc this can be a huge and costly thing to do the fleas will stop feeding on the dog and leave and as soon as they have more will infest for a short stay, some dogs seem to become prone to infestation, probably due to their body working differently alongside frontline, their are other treatments, spot on treatments which may suit the said animal better.we can only do are best but whatever, parasites are pests and very hard to eliminate.try differant remedies?
  11. i have seen worked terriers since i was able to walk i am 37 and have lost a few, you( will )lose some animals, if you put them into ground, people lose there lives in similar situations (working underground)its a very dangerous place, it knocks you of course when you lose a dog. always give yourself enough room, have all the tools you may need to hand or within a distance, and take your time, this will make human error less likely, and as long as you know you done your part well. it can make any loss more bearable.
  12. ill send you a pawed autograph.
  13. i started this topic, with one comment, question , it was ,does anyone take the time to ground into account when a dog works, i also stated that every aspect of a terriers work must be scruitinised for the good of our working breeds, nothing was mentioned about other atributes ,such as hardness .a dog or bitch to be breed from must first and foremost be exceptional at the job for which he is kept. we could also talk about areas rock, sand etc. for me a dog must stay, and i value it highly.we have just sent a dog to ireland ,he is very sensible and will bay and stay , even let the quarry move
  14. in my experiance (im no expert by the way) 6+ hr digs are rare, the vast magority of digs are over under the 1hr mark, 2 and 3 hr digs are common but anything over 3 is unusal around my neck of the woods . and if we didnt breed from a terrier untill it proved itself on 6 hr digs then we would never have a litter then you should never have a litter?and then my friend we may have decent animals, worthy of calling terriers. every aspect of these animals should be tested, i shall now sign of as im agitated ,thanks.
  15. be well wary of taking people, its the begining of the end, look after it an itll look after you.
  16. such dogs are failed as real workers, thats not to say they arent useful, regarding breeding from, well
  17. maybe 3 or 4 years back 5 of us where regularly digging, taking a number of terriers and racing with each other to drop dogs (1)into earths, the numbers where great, the digs where short and fast, mostly, and we had the option of staying clear of deaper places. the staying power of the dog was never tested or at best rarely, now things are different, i dig mainly on my own and even in the shallow places i may put my coat down drink a flask and have a roam before i even consider digging ,i am always checking the time to ground, this is only one of a number of important points, a dog that wants
  18. you cant put a price on a good working terrier mate that i can go with. but working pups ????? they aint working. iff your honest youd be lucky to get one out of five, and when i say that i dont mean the one that might work,i mean the one as good or better than the one you bred six years ago. the one off pups that we all hope to have, parents were good so were the grand parents, and yet within al lines we've all had the one offs and nothing can or could compare to them. breed the best to the best, and hope ? but only the boarn workers ill make the grade. £300 or £40 makes no differ
