  1. Here is my two working Jill's for this season. Polecat tiny and 2 year old the ferret is this years and still small.
  2. Does anybody get their ferret microchipped just in case they ever get out or are stolen and how do they react. I saw somebody doing it online and they didn't flinch. Atb
  3. I have recently got her from a guy whose moved and couldn't keep animals because of the landlord. She was his best working ferret. So I'm looking forward to this season with her.
  4. She is fast mate never keeps still and yes a good Bolter too.
  5. Here is my worker for this season, she is two years old and very healthy.
  6. All in all it acts like a Hob in season without the balls.
  7. Mine is a double it is 16x 8x8 and it's a nice good size for the ferrets and it is made from 9mm ply and I think 6mm for the bow back.
  8. Yes it seems odd to me too, there was four in the cage and he was ok but then just one night he changed and the Jill was only 8 weeks old then and he was carrying her round in his mouth. When she squealed I walked down and he came to the cage door with her in his mouth like a dog and rabbit.
  9. I know you weren't being funny, it was sombody else I split them up because when I put the dog out one night my young Jill was squealing from 30 foot away and I thought he was trying to kill her, but he seems to be trying to mate instead. I can't put her near him he starts making the sound even through the mesh and he tries to get at her, when he does he grabs her throat pins her and then drags her off and I can't leave her because he won't stop. So they are separated until she gets older or he stops trying.
  10. No the Jill is only 3 months the hob is young but he won't leave her alone if put together. You can not see his testicles She is too young only 3 months The hob still makes the breeding noise of an older hob The hob grabs her by the neck and drags her away. Just like a Hob in breeding. I have bred ferrets before and had them a long time. Don't need any clever people and stupid comments! Just never had or seen a Hob act like this
  11. I know Hobs drop their testicles thats why I said it is not normal.
  12. Like I said in the paragraph, No his testicles are not showing
  13. Good advice that mate I will get in contact and see if I can find any.
  14. He always makes the sound when a Jill goes near him and then grabs their necks and drags them away. I've had ferrets 20 years and bred them, but I've never had a Hob like this. The only other thing is the guy lied but it doesn't seems old enough to be last years and his ball are still not showing. Unless it has eu in because they seem to mature quick.
  15. My young Hob is very much in season and only suppose to be four or five months old and he can't be caged with the young Jill yet.
  16. Good advice I will put a coat over my box, cheers
  17. I used three good coats of shed and fence paint. Job done!
  18. I know it's a big shout but does anybody have a working Jill for sale? County Durham
  19. I have just received my new ferret box and want to know what would be best to paint the box outside fence paint or a good tin of varnish? Atb
  20. I bought one from g2g looks a nice tidy box. Thanks for the replies. Atb
  21. So everybody my Hob does seem to be in season, his balls aren't showing and they guy repeatedly says the hob is only 4 months old! But it smells and acts older and it is trying to mate with the young kits. He even makes the noise as soon as he sees them and gets their necks.
  22. I've got a class small dark silver Hob, he is small and stocky same size as an eu Jill. Just to add my friend had a small albino Jill years ago and a rabbit knacked it and hammered it's back the ferret was culled because it couldn't move anymore.
  23. I have got a new little Jill today she is very thin and looks to have lost a lot of hair, so I have soaked her in flea and tick shampoo and she will be getting nice healthy grub from now on. My question is, would it be fleas that could cause the hair to look thin?
