  1. double post see below...
  2. Chubz, my guess is you don't have many if any groundhogs in NE. Your quarry would be mainly fox and raccoon I would think...where in NE are you? Send a pm if you like..
  3. Well, it's got a hematoma to keep it company now!
  4. It was a great fight. The opponent was a top level wrestler (dirty b*****d) and only took Kye down a handful of times in four rounds and DID NOT want to stand with him. It was one of the few times an amateur fight went on to a fourth deciding round in this area due to a draw at the end of three. Kye came out and pressed him hard despite his broken hand, ended up being taken down but dominated from his back striking, and overall, attempting many very high level submissions throughout the fight. It was a battle and he did well. I know he hates decisions but he won the fight and should be pr
  5. Beyond legal, I'd worry about the plague- the colonies in the western states will pop up with it from time to time and you'd hear about the odd human death and they'd move in and exterminate a colony of them. Colorado, Oklahoma, Utah etc......
  6. RK The DVD recorders are nice but manipulating the footage isn't as easy- also some computers don't have a tray but a slot loader and can't take a mini-DVD which some cameras record to. Once on the disc (it's been encoded to Mpeg already), you can't do much with it but watch it. With computers having Firewire capability, you can get a cheap or free editor and input some footage etc. if you want. It's native DV on a tape and you can do what you want with it, the tapes are small and it's digital. Hi-Def is nice but if you don't have a hi-def monitor it's pointless and most low end editing s
  7. Check out bhphotovideo.com You can sort a search in consumer video by brand, recording media- disc, tape, hard drive, optical zoom length, price etc. I buy quite a bit of pro gear there and the site is good for comparing products.......
  8. RK, I'd recommend a 'DV' camera (not DVD recorder etc.), with optical stabilizer. Most of the guts are similar, you run into differences in lenses, stabilizers and image processing. Canon cameras are vgood. Panasonic and JVC make some nice ones as well. You'll want something that gets close to 0 lux for lamping and night filming. I'll look for some reviews for you and pm you. At long distance, the zooms will be digital and won't hold up well but an optical stabilizer will help. I'd look at a bunch and see what seems easy to handle, which controls are easily accessible etc. as some c
  9. Excellent fight Kye, slam and all. Nice to get compliments from everyone I'm sure but too bad they don't know how well you really fought. Was a truly good performance.
  10. Good looking litter there Royston, all the best with them.
  11. Healthy looking pups Royston, all the best with them.
  12. More like 600-0 but I'm hellish on them and can lose the 15 pounds.....more importantly, can you fix ugly? It's got me hungry just thinking about it, I'm gonna make a run...
  13. Yeah, and 3-50 on the spade and 0-1 on the bar but he's still training hard.
  14. We just work the dogs and the rest gets sorted.....they all have strengths and weaknesses I just wasn't sure why the 1/4 percentage was needed. Are there a lot of bull crosses in your area? Sounds like Cooper is pleased with his, hope they work out for you.
  15. Why don't you want to go less than 1/4 bull? Seems a lot of bull when less or even no bull should do fine in most situations. What are you hunting?
  16. Easy Mrs. Daisy, I drive for the dogs, you're just along for the running commentary..........
  17. Those are some nice dogs Kye, I know how good Tor is but that Blister is a special dog.......glad they did so well for you but they're a credit to your getting them fit and on fur.
  18. Interesting..... Bone Healing
  19. That is simply not true. There are software changes in the Pieps locator that have been there from the beginning to fine tune it for terrier location in the earth (not snow). Pieps is now producing this terrier adapted locator for Bellman and Flint with BF's name on it to end any confusion. Haggler Excellent gear imo. Pure bs about the software change though. I've asked multiple times as I bought my locator box separately when they first started selling before the changed policy to only allow a collar/box combo. I was told it was the same exact box as long as it triangulated
  20. marco, it means when a skunk sprays a terrier in the ground. If the dog gets a enough spray inhaled, the reaction can range from disorientation to shock or death. Often a terrier gets quite sick immediately and recovers without permanent damage. More here: Skunking info...
  21. Taffy, the biggest I've seen taken was 31# with Kye's Bricca. They get bigger the further north from what I've heard and it takes a good animal to kill one to ground- tough animals. A bag of fat with a head and dextrous hands. I think Kye rates them among ground game.
