  1. Came across this little snippet, not very long but long enough to wet the appetite for some of 18th/19th century antics. Monkey Vs Dog
  2. Not me mate, I'm in Scotland and it's nearly £2 a litre, no chance. Poor show whoever it was.
  3. I put it in their water and mix it with food whenever their due worming. Have been using it with the dogs as a wormer for the last year and the dogs have never looked as well. Was speaking to a farmer who does his own free range organic pig's and that's what he has been using for years to kill wormers and bacteria in his piglet's instead of vaccinations for those types of things. Apple cider vinegar and water and he says it keeps everything at bay inside their stomach and digestive track. Makes sense.
  4. Apple cider vinegar is really the business for so many things. A splash in a cup of milk, what happens? The separation of lactose and the breaking down of sugars that are present. It does exactly the same thing when ingested, it's breaks down sugars in the digestive system and neutralises stomach acid. Perfect for those who suffer from stomach and digestive problems like and IBS etc. Had a friend who for years was using drugs to help his IBS buy never cleared up unless he was popping the pills from the GP. He started taking a shot of cider vinegar 3 times a day as well as drinking more water (
  5. Have friends who have had it and some that still do. I'm no doctor, but when your body is coming out with external visible rashes, blotches, itchy skin etc.....the body is trying to tell you something isn't right on your insides. Stress is probably the most common reason and then immune system issues. Too much acid build up with carbs and sugars, you need to get some apple cider vinegar down a few times a day to help neutralise your levels and bacteria build up which commonly causes skin irritations. The last thing you want to do is cut out real food proteins from your diet like eggs, meat, fi
  6. Some nice work there Sandy, credit where credits due?
  7. And just like that........Covid came along all by itself just at the right time!? Pure crackers ?
  8. These are the dogs you would be inclined to knock on the head when they come out. It's easier said than done for some to cull. There's no way I would be raising a pup with such a physical malfunction. The breeding is telling you something when that's what your producing.
  9. With an average fuel price increase of over 20p a litre in the last month..... you'd have to be drinking coolant fluid to think such a jump is anything but intentional. Evidence below in image.
  10. Suppose that's the point some are making with breeding really tight ie brother and sister, you will get issues at some point down the line. That dog would be unable to reproduce is that right?
  11. Humble pie lol. That's settled then, full brother full sister matings from now on!lol Who says it can't be done? Of course it's been done and is being done. The discourse surrounding the topic in the first place was to establish what are the possible risks and health issues that could result from doing such a close mating and keeping things really tight. We all know the answer.
  12. Full brother sister mating there from one of the best producing bitches of all time. Interesting.
  13. Fair play to you then mate. I hope your line goes well for you. Your making what sounds like a convincing argument on a few points there so fair enough. Have never ran a firstx or half cross, only 3/8 5/8 and 1/4 bull greyhounds aswell as saluki bull greyhounds over the years. Just mentioning for the contribution factor?
  14. A dogs genes differ completely just as every species of animals genes differ from one another. As i mentioned previously, in your example of herd animals and their breeding programs, such inbreeding obviously results in greater yeilds but is that really healthy for the species in the long run? Inbreeding will transfer recessive traits which every animal has, and breeding 2 exact dogs together from the same litter won't give you improvement genetically, perhaps back to the father in the first instance, but brother sister and then back to the father seems to me as setting yourself back str
  15. That's interesting mate and I don't dispute that such a breeding program would be or is, the way to go forward with livestock in your example above. But personally I don't think such a process for dog breeding is the right approach. Surely the difference's are that livestock are herd animals, the less brain the better, the more domesticated the better, etc. Dogs are not the same in anyway, nor the jobs that we ask them to do. When we know that a small gene pool gives less to work with and nothing new to add, why would you conclude that overall health and genes will be strong or continue t
  16. What was in your dog's that were capable of doing that job mate of you don't mind me asking? Breeding that is.
  17. What sort of distances are terrier's below ground covering in their 2 hours below ground? The comparison is nonsense mate
  18. Full brother to full sister and then back to the father is where this conversation kicked off?
  19. Performance in the sense of the cardiovascular ability of coursing dogs at their peak of fitness running their chosen quarry cannot be matched or compared to a terrier working below ground, that's just nonsense.
  20. So really then on that basis, breeding dogs is a piece of cake then. It requires no real knowledge or understanding. Just breed worker to worker, even if their brother sister, father daughter, mother son etc with no outcrossing? Of course they'll be problems.
  21. I understand that mate, but you'll need to throw something into the mix thats not from your line at some point to avoid losing all your hard work. Tighten up a line yes, but if all your doing is inbreeding and line breeding it's not going to be very beneficial to the overall health of the animals in the long run. So what's the answer to the pint of milk question?
