I agree with you - it wouldn't be a big deal to have a lost/stolen page on the website as a start. I see that the fell and moorland have done that. The federation could be one point of contact for anyone with info on a stolen dog - or who's taking them - I'm not suggesting they should be vigilantes or anything but they're in the best position to get the story to the right people.

Liam it's up again now alright - I've seen that myself as well though but it was supposed to be sorted yesterday. Tell your TD's that we brought down the hosting company it got so many visits

One other thing - the antis are calling terrier men 'thugs' - please don't live up to this image by getting overly aggressive or threatening any politician either in person, on the phone or email. I'd personally leave out any talk of 'war' and 'dead bodies' too - if we do enough now it won't come to that Best banner I saw at the hunting marches in the UK was 'BAN GOLF' - really epitomizes how ridiculous the situation was. Incidentally Coveney is a big rugby fan

Fair dues top hat - the more people at it the better. I contacted a good few more people yesterday about next thursday and many hadn't a clue it was happening - we really need to get the word out - don't assume people know. Patterdale666 - I haven't received a reply yet either but you have to understand that today's a huge day for the coalition - if we haven't heard anything by next Tuesday though I'm going to resend the mails and start ringing again.

This is real lads - we should know more by tonight with any luck. Get writing and phoning - the antis have already started - we're way behind as usual. I've been ringing around and a lot of people had no idea even about the rally in Silver Springs Cork tomorrow week. Do it quick - it would be easier for any u-turn to happen earlier rather than later. Don't think that this will only affect those that dig with the foxhounds or harriers - it'll only take one wrong person to see you with a terrier and shovel and your dogs, vehicle, equipment are gone - more than likely your freedom for

IMHO even one person without an understanding of hunting is too many to have as an "authorized officer" - this Act gives them way too much power - the last thing we need is a Southern Philpot trying to further their own careers by stitching up perfectly law abiding people.

It's not too late to change it if that's what you're looking to find out - hence the RISE rally. But the people representing us really do need our support - and more importantly they need the politicians to realize that RISE has the backing of a lot more of the voting public than they previously thought. Corkman might be able to fill you in on exactly what stage it's at. Johngalway from here is a MOD on boards AFAIK - could he sticky it there? In fairness there's usually a very good turnout from the shooting community at these events.

This is truly a shocking piece of legislation - in case anyone thinks the posters here are cherry picking pieces to make it sound worse than it is then have a look at the draft here - http://www.agriculture.gov.ie/media/migration/animalhealthwelfare/ImportedRevisedstampeddraft18b0211doc.pdf I had mistakenly thought that private dwellings were exempt from the powers of entry of these 'authorized officers' - not so - they don't even need a warrant in certain cases. Now I know they'd struggle to get a conviction against you if they did try this but that won't be the point of the exercise fo

Thursday 7th June at 8pm in Silver Springs hotel - for news look at their Facebook page - I'm not signed up so can't see what's up there - Link here - http://risecampaign1.wordpress.com/facebook/ Again - is there actually a club called IWTF up and running? Will whoever's running it contact RISE and get terrier work represented please?
-
Any more on this lads? RISE is back in action due to the Animal Health and Welfare Bill but there's been no approach from any terrier group according to the lads on the committee? There's a meeting planned for Cork next month - I was at the last one and a very high percentage of the attendees were terrier men first and foremost - it will be an opportunity lost for us if yet again we're there in numbers but with no actual representation in the organisation itself.

I've used the 'bitch spray' - I cover the dogs in it as well - it definitely does some good in that the barking at night isn't half as bad. I have one young b*****d of a dog that goes mental for the whole time though. Had to put the bitches in a kennels for a week last summer because the neighbors were starting to give out - cost a bit but you can't afford to have everyone around gang up on you - could make life very difficult. I'm going to get that Liquid Chlorophyll tomorrow - thanks for the tip

Hope he turns up Bryan.

I wouldn't take too much notice of that list to be honest - there were other factors at play there. As we've all found out over the last few weeks Labour are ANTIS - they'll do nothing good for us. I also seriously distrust sinn fein - gormley had to fend off Ó Snodaigh when sinn fein were calling for a ban on 'blood sports' in 2009 - the same year they passed a motion at their Ardfheis for a full ban - all old news but gives an idea of what you're dealing with. Given a free vote with nothing else at stake I'd say you'd get a different picture of who's who - there's a lot of pro

My Trip to scotland part 1: First red stag
Corkonian replied to Groach's topic in Deer Stalking & Management
Sounds like you had a great day - scenery looks amazing. Was it your own 6.5 that you had - what did you use in it. -
Great stuff!

Hope you get them back TT. I'll keep an ear to the ground around here.

I never thought i'd actually have to say this to people but - don't believe every promise a politician tells you on the run up to the elections I'd have no doubt that if they thought there was a vote in it they'd promise to go up and toss our dazza's salad. At the moment as a party - they DO NOT support hunting - read my earlier post and the links there. Some like mcguiness and ferris are pro hunting but the majority are not - the top dogs won't want their names attached one way or the other to a topic like this so that's why they find excuses to leave before any vote etc. Is this Aen

IT IS TRUE - I was at a meeting with gerry adams a few weeks ago - he said himself that the dublin city ogra put forward the motion at the last Ardfheis and it passed. Ferris is going to put forward his own motion at the next Ardfheis to try and overturn it - but as it stands SF are an anti party. There's no guarantee at all that his motion will be passed. I hate giving the antis any publicity here but have a look at the ICABS site and you'll get plenty of info on where a lot of our politicians stand on the issue. eg. This proves that unfortunately it was more than just a late night

I shot a Glock 9mm at a range here just to try out the aul pistol shooting - you'd get pissed off of it very fast - after 50 rounds I just wanted to go home - played with the idea of getting one now and again but ultimately it wasn't worth the hassle - too late now as they've changed the laws here again. If I had gone ahead with one I'd have gotten something from CZ Hard to find a negative review of them. You can also get the crimson trace laser grips to increase the cool factor You'd think your friend would be surrounded by the best people to ask for advice. Ask the questio

Shocking thread lads - hope it works out for ye. The local ISPCA has a fair share of hunting people working for it - that's the only way ye're going to sort this shit out - get in there working for them - do the work experience there. Push the anti's out from the inside. Not a bad job either IMO. Recession proof at least - and your working with animals. Organizations like the ISPCA and the wildlife rangers are not anti as such - it's just that they have been taken over by antis. Another forum I'm on has a few wildlife rangers as members and they're always pleading for more hunting pe
