  3. Mr Hillcote used to live in my village, had some terrific borders in his day, mate of mine used to hunt with him. Heard nothing but good from his dogs and was well respected. Stevie
  4. What i mean is anyone that thinks a big dog can get anywhere is kidding himself ,now tell me whats wrong with that? That's not what you said. No worries, carry on.
  5. IMO if a terrier is too big it's too big and will be limited to where you can put him whether he has all the determination in the world or not. I'd rather keep a smaller type, they work just as well in most situations and you can't make the excuse that they can't get to their quarry! Misty, I think you might eat those words!! Stevie
  6. Yes, apply neat and leave it to dry in. Couple or three times a day or more if no improvement. BB isn't guaranteed to work but I've had success with it in the past. Worth a try. Stevie
  7. If you can possibly avoid it,do. Terriers that have been together for years have been known to fire up and kill eacch other. It's normally the dog you like the most that dies, be very careful........ Stevie

  10. That pic was taken when the dog was about a year old mate, I just recognised the name, my wife named him when he was here as a pup. I've no idea where he is or could be, best of luck finding him. If you want to talk to me, pm and I'll send you my number. Worth saying, the dog has only one ball so should be easy enough to identify. Stevie

  19. Thanks for the update Penny. You're a brave girl!!! That's very good of you, I think the pups will benefit enormously. Stevie
  20. Can I add some comments here, I've had a dog and a bitch from Ian. Firstly I'd like to say the man is a total gentleman and gave me both pups free of charge. I got my first pup, a dog in June 2006 at 10 weeks. He wasn't the best socialised pup I'd ever had but he came round with a bit of time. As a pup, he was a pleasure to own but was VERY obstinate and was not the type to forget a clip round the ear, which he took very badly. I found him difficult to train, probably because I wasn't used to this type of dog as I've owned terriers all my life and they're NOT the same package. To cut a long s
  21. Had a great day lads, enjoyed the company as usual, glad to see the club has come on so well. The atmosphere was second to none and it was good to see some of the old timers making an appearance, (Monty, Harry, Wee Pete etc). Some of the lads who supported this show don't appear at any others. Says a lot as far as I'm concerned, keep it up Brass & Co. Well done Keano. Stevie
  22. I judged the russells at Kirkcaldy the week before this show.I know both judges from this show. I won best russell dog and best russell bitch at this show 2 years ago. The same two terriers didn't get placed this year. I had a great day and didn't give the places a second thought. It's a day out. Stevie
  23. Good post Del, too many folk making conclusions from a few (excellent) pictures. As someone said previously, why do some folk only put up negative posts? We're all supposed to be of the same mind. Supporting a working show is supporting your sport. Neilston is one area where the MAJORITY of terriers at the show(s) will have seen earth work. Great day, great craic. See most of you next week. Stevie
