  1. Saw a swallow last week hen out with the gun (north yorks). Quite pleased as im usually last to see them. I presume those further south will have seen some even earlier.
  2. Bad news that mate! Its a c*nts trick.period. I was in a similar situation to him a bit back. I needed someone to pay for something on paypal as mine went down. Molly on here paid it for me and ive never met her in my life! What a girl. I made sure she was sent a cheque straight away and i owe the girl a favour as well. What a shame you saw the uglier side of paying for stuff for someone. What goes round , comes round! always has done!
  3. First 2 look to show a variegated blackbird, Third picture looks like a dipper to me.
  4. God, im feeling left out here! Ive caught thousands of moles and never ever caught anything but a bog standard black one! I'll get my coat!!!
  5. I havent read all the replies , but ive used a long flexible "stick" from the bramble bush plenty of times before and it works a treat, i hadnt actually thought of using barbed wire!! Simply cut a length off and twist it down the hole and it gets results.
  6. Its took me nearly 3 weeks to have a "proper" play with my newest gun. I seem to have been working from morning till night these last few weeks, and though i would only moan if i wasnt busy, im sick to the high teeth of moles at present Anyway, the weather has been awful lately and i just couldnt be bothered going today so i said sod it, i will have a look out with my .410. I got a call from one of my farmers about a week ago about a particular couple of fields that were getting damaged by rabbits so had a trip along. The weather was fine as i got there, but within minutes it was blizardin
  7. i dont know if you got your figures wrong, dont like me or it was a wind-up but i was offered 10 fenns for £50 because i was a THL'er. 5p dearer than the website!
  8. I will put up a photo of old trap-trap on here when i get a minute. A little treat for you girls
  9. Im going to london in june for the ufc, but im pretty clueless on the capital. There are 4 of us flying from teeside to heathrow on a friday night but need some info on; Which underground line the 02 arena is ( millenium dome) which underground line heathrow airport is, Im also looking for a cheap hotel in the centre for a weekend or on an underground line that would connect the 2 up nicely. Any help would be good, or a website that would help.I havent been to london for years. Thanks in advance from old trap-trap
  10. I dont think i will bother. Been going for ages now, but it never gets any better.
  11. So a smaller calibre will drop a deer if it was to miss bone (ribs) and muscle- sounds logical i suppose. So head shots would be a theorhetical no-no because of the skull?!? is this correct.
  12. Nice! does anyone still want wings, tails, skins etc? i could maybe make a few bob on the side.
  13. Theoretically speaking. What size rifle could drop a, say, roe deer? Im not condoning in any way the shooting of deer with an under powered rifle, but was wondering what the pro's on here would think a deer could be felled without problem. I know that north of the border a .22 centrefire suffices ( why its different to south i dont know), but would a correctly placed shot from a .17 hmr or a 22.250 take one down ( illegaly obviously), or would an even less powerful one drop one at close range. Once again, emphasis is on not condoning it.
  14. Thats a cracking photo mate. Never heard of a little owl getting caught in a larsen before! Lovely looking little fella!
  15. They will tend to look for drier ground, but although setting traps in the rain can be a pain, you can catch a lot when its wet for some reason.

Your right there mate. An average pub brawl lasts 10-15 seconds. We've all had a few of them, but thought it lasted ages!!

    f****d right off

Im with you mate. Badgers are a feckin nuisance at times BUT its the PRINCIPLE that these people are building willy nilly, with no regard for the wildlife. It could to all intents and purposes be a golden eagles nest or whatever, the fact is that these people are building over a badgers sett that they know about. I would take it all the way if it was me.

    man u

Most of the players aren't from Manchester either these days, so that argument's dead! On the original post, don't count our chickens before they hatch, for god sake! OOOhhh, i know what. I'll support man u cos they always win, even though i live hundreds of miles away, that way i will be on the winning side most of the time. If you havent the balls to support your local team then dont bother typing on here mate. Any idiot can "support" a good team from miles away. Try watching your local team, whoever they are. Thats what makes a man. Sometimes you lose but it makes the
  19. I know where you are coming from but cant agree entirely. Im not an anti, dreamer or an armchair hunter but dont take a camera with me on outings. Not having a go as i know where you are coming from.
  20. You missed out my favourite- Squirrel!! Im not keen on rabbit, woodcock does nothing for me. Cant stand duck and ive never tried goose! My vote is grouse, then pheasant.
  21. Ive tried them traps and they arent that bad. Probably the best of the "cheapies". Jaws tended to be a bit wide, but the coil spring made for a clean kill and they didnt collapse after a few frosts unlike some.
  22. Thers a few more, are you applying to some for jobs?
  23. I know where you are coming from. a couple of weeks ago i told someone on here not to think of moling as a cash cow. He seemed to think that he could make big bucks real quick, but as we know its awful work at times. The farms, where the "meat" of my money comes from is bloody hard work. A lot dont know what its like to not feel your fingers after an hour but know youve got 7 hours moling left.
  24. I dont price per mole. You can end up having one mole left to catch and driving 20 or 30 miles return for £4 or something. I charge by the hour for farms and have a set price for domestics. You know what you are getting then.
  25. £1.10 for petrol, £1.20 for diesel in my town.
